RS Owners Day @ Castle Coombe

I was there with my car on the central group stand. Was a good day all in. Reyalnd car very impressive, as was Brom's 3 door. I went for a charity ride and was next in the q to go in the full Grp A Escos. I approached the car with helmet on etc, but some dopey bint was doing a radio broad cast and the station was one of the car's sponsors. They put her in instead of me!!!

Was so unhappy at that! Will put up some pics shortly.

for a company like Ford to produce a car in such low numbers it's always going to have a hardcore appeal. slower than a regular 3 door in standard form but absolutely begging to be modded.

They just seem to me, like one of the first menacing looking cars, other than muscle. They just seem like big rally slags, the whale tail tickles me everytime and when they're kept in good nick they have a road presence like no other.

the 500 wasn't the rally car mate, the standard 3 door was.
the RS500 was made to go circuit racing.

and was so much quicker than the competition that in the end the governing body were forced to strangle the car with a restrictor in the air flow into the engine.
