I've got it on top slot slightly to the right and tilted the buttons down a bit so they are more vertical :D

Don;t get in the way as much then :p

Oh yeah forgot that, titled my buttons down a bit too.

Found myself hitting some of the buttons with my thumb accidentally at times so lowered them a bit. Comfortable enough that I need to press down to hit them, and that I don't accidentally hit one of them either :)

I just need to actually USE the damn thing now :o
 
What allies to other players tend to make? Currently I get along with all the main races. The pirates and Yaki are love hate for me, and Xenon and Khaak are enemies.

I may try and exterminate the boron. Annoying whiney emo squidy things, don't really like the Paranid either, but they have a few nice ships :p
Was trying to cap a Agamemnon the other day, so hard to take out its shields compared to the Carrack I capped, and then eventually when I did get the shields down for long enough (whilst trying to stay alive in my Hyperion) my marines couldn't get through the hull anyway :p
More marines next time xD

well im currently playing the savage split start so naturaly i hate the boron and have been killing them on site :D.

I recently made up with them, i was forced to because i wanted to start the hub plot. But then once ive finished with that and have my PHQ it will be back to exterminating them from the universe.

Take that Hyperion of yours and capture a M7M(very easy to cap) you will probably need to build a flail and hammer complex to supply it.

Once you have a M7M get some boarding pods, fire enough hammers to drop the shields of your target then switch to flails. Use the Flails to keep the sheilds low and as a distraction to the targets turrets so that you boarding pods arnt shot down. Once the hull has been penertrated sit back and wait for your shiny new ship.
 
Trainz 2009 is a great time waster, start building your own route and download content all of a sudden you find hours have passed!

I tried X3 a while back and it was just too steep learning curve for me to bare with.

I want Sid Meiers to release more games! His games I get so lost in!
 
ok, x3:tc people...started the terran plot, but my god the sabre is rubbish, missles just take it out in seconds, fully tuned, and 5x5mj shields, still only 2 weapons as i cant buy more :( i need something better, but credits are low, 600k or so..help?

have you maxed the speed?

a good starting M3 is the Nova Raider you can get these from omacron lyree, or you could pick up one of the numerous FREE ships out there

No real difference between the starts just starting location and ship.

Terran is gerneraly the best start, the starting ship is rubbish but the start is more noob orientated.
 
Meh,

Juts dug out my copy, installed patched upto 2.0 and complains i havent got the correct cd inserted!!

And yes it is a genuine copy :( was looking forward to spending some time playing it as i hadnt played yet lol.

Any one else facing this issue?? Also im using windows 7 x64. Could possibly be the issue i guess.
 
got to find a shipyard, only place to sell ships, just dock or tell the ship to dock and then you can sell it in the trade menu.


also to anyone that knows, i appear to be on the 6th part of the main plot..still flying the crappy sabre, should i holt the main plot and do lots of side missions to get a better ship and more credits?
