RTS's... just cant play them. HELP!

It's probably blasphemy 'round here, but when I struggle with a game I'll persevere for a while and if it's still not happening, I drop the difficulty level, play the game through. I get little enough time gaming and do it to enjoy myself, not to see how rubbish I am (ignoring the dropped difficulty level)

If I've enjoyed it and have the time, I'll play it through on standard difficulty, just to prove to myself that I can do it. jas72's right, it's much easier 3rd or 4th time

I went from Warcraft 3 to Dawn of War to CoH, and struggled massively with all three of them - don't think I'lll be buying another RTS

I do the same some times, difficulty level doesn't matter if it still fun.

Actually, it was only until recently that I did the very same thing.

I Always pla ya game on EASY first time round and then hard the next time.

If the game is proving too easy, then I will restart on a harder setting before I get too far into it.

More often than not, it allows me to get comfy with it.

Im happy to say however, that COH & DOW are now played on Hard.
But in a weird way, I still play Dark Crusade on normal and Winter Assault I still get my arse panned on Easy!!!!!

Im annoyed actually cos no matter what, but I cannot have all 3 DOW games installed at any one time???

What I am really saying, is that if you can play one of them, then no matter what, you will be able to play the others with very little trouble. The UI is the same, building up your army is the same... the points system and so on, are all done in exactly the same way.

This is true yes, but other than the control points system the same could be said for most rts's

As the control points and cover system set dow apart from many other rts's the flanking and advanced micromanagement sets coh apart from dow

If anyone does want a game of coh say hi, i will be happy to give advice individually (dont wanna hijack this thread)
