So Im abit unsure if I can use it because I've read somewhere that you need to have a SLI connector and the RTX2070 doesn't have one?

I need a lot a lot of power for a nvidia effect so Im thinking of doing that. should I?

Any advice is hugely appreciated!

Should be able to select which card you want to run PhysX on, as default main card .
Doesn't have to be a matching card or SLi for it to be enabled on another card other then primary

Glad to hear that, Thanks!

Im going to buy another RTX2070 and use as dedicated physX card (So total two RTX2070). Also gonna buy a 1000W PSU just to be safe.

Sorry to keep asking but will the pcie lanes bottleneck my gpu? one 2070 as main card and another 2070 as dedicated physx card

I've read from a site that the x8 pcie will only be 1-2 fps lower (they've compared between x16 x16 motherboard and a normal motherboard)

my specs
z390 aorus master
i9 9900k all cores 5ghz
rtx2070 windforce
2x corsair lpx 8gb 3000mhz
ssd 860evo Samsung

You say you need a lot of power but you don't say for what exactly and then you ask if you should do it. How can anyone say yes or no or this is better instead?

Without having a clue what it's for, can the same not be achieved by selling your 2070, and spending that + what you'd have spent on a second 2070 and a 1000W PSU, on a faster GPU? With bonus of more power for everything else at the same time? What benchmarks have you seen that show that this is not a better option for what you're after?

But maybe the world will never know.

Well its kinda stupid I don't know if anyone does this but I changed up a few values in the Killing floors 2 game to allow for a lot of gibs and fluid and also increased the number dead zeds so they won't de-spawn.

For now the 2070 is doing Ok but I want to increase even more, I want to see the max values I can get.

I don't have the game but don't see how the bottleneck in performance would all be down to physx.

Are you monitoring usage with a program like MSI afterburner? It will show you CPU , GPU, ram usage so you have a better idea what is your limiting factor.

Weird thing is the game shows it uses 2.2 gb vram max when under heaviest game load and gpu usage max is also 100% so i thought of getting a dedicated physx card.

For now im just worried that if i get a dedicated physx card the pcie lanes will limit me because both pcie lanes cant both be 16x.

Buying a second 2070 for physx is crazy.

To test your card go into bios and set the pie lane to 2.0 thus will give you save speed as pcie3.0 x8

Yea I know its crazy but the atmosphere and the gameplay is really important for my gaming experience so if thats what it takes then I would try my best to upgrade.
For GTA V I've achieved constant 60fps in online lobby by getting the 9900k and to me thats money well spent.

My next target is to make KF2 really feel like an apocalypse by making the max amount of dead zeds and the gibs and fluid effect unable to de-spawn
The RTX2070 is doing alright but I can't help to think that if I get another 2070 + PSU or 2080ti I can get the perfect experience.
In the case of Nvidia flex, Will I get better performance with two 2070 or a single 2080ti?

@MaXxBoulton

I just need 60fps

During heavy loads it goes up to 1.29V idk if thats correct. Im still kinda new to this

Buying a second 2070 for PhysX is absolutely pointless.
I'm unaware of any game in the last 5 years to use hardware accelerated PhysX.

Ofloading PhysX onto a 2070 is going to use BARLEY any of that GPU. Most people use a card like a 460 to do that task. But it really is pointless, you won't get a massively better experience at all compared to just running a single 2070 or faster.
