RTX 3070 > 2080TI?

I think it will be roughly equal in general rasterization perf (no faster than that) and better at RTX stuff, but it will be more expensive than the 2070S was and it will come later. 2080S and 2080Ti is where the massive slump will hit imho cos they are soo overpriced, the 2070S will be less of a hit imho

My guess it's going to be somewhere between 90% to 100% of 2080 Ti performance. The big Q mark is what new features Ampere will bring & what impact those will have (if any/if any). I stack the predictions like this atm:

2nd hand 2080ti sales will be absolutely battered if true. Not necessarily bad news for those of us looking to go 2nd hand, and still hoping to get some ray tracing performance.

Probably have less ram than the 2080ti

That's a definite given the 3080 has less than than the 2080ti, i'd guess the 3070 gets 10GB also, although I wouldn't put it past NV to cheap out even more and give the 3070 8GB. In face the mroe I think about it, i'd guess the 3070 gets stuck with 8GB. Gimping it's improved RT performance.

It'll sit nicely between the 2080s and 2080ti as to not depreciate the 2080ti too much, otherwise you really will be looking at sub £500-400 2080ti's in the secondhand market especially if RT is a lot more efficient on the 3000 series.

Actually a few 2080ti's sold for crica £580 on OCUK Membersmarket,

There will be a 15 to 20% bump in performance at the same price point unless amd release a part to compete.. Maybe bigger in rtx if the overall architecture has been improved
