RTX 5080 Won’t boot unless it’s fully power cycled

My card was also an MSI Shadow. I ended up returning it. I'm waiting to get a 5090 for a decent price - if I get the same error it looks like it's time for a motherboard replacement.
Odd thing is it's now doing the same on mine with no card in and trying onboard, mines possibly the psu I'm not sure but it's going to be a pain to change that again as it means taking my water loop out again

Mine's ok with just integrated graphics. What PSU do you have? Did you use the adapter that came with the card? I know what you mean about swapping out the PSU. I do have another one to test with but couldn't be bothered swapping it - especially as the card seems to work fine once booted into windows. If I get the same problem with the next card then I guess I will have to try another PSU to eliminate it being that.

I have a brand new corsair 1200x shift, tried the msi adapter and the corsair one no difference, if the cables on psu were the same it would be a 10 min job to swap but unfortunately there not.......mines odd as it works but I have to switch the psu off then back on and immediately hit the power button. I've raised a ticket with corsair and will wait and see what they say

Fixed! Was sat next to pc with it "shut down" The ROG Led was still lit then I noticed a green flashing light which I'd previously thought was the LAN Socket lights, turned out it was the Bios Flashback Switch, Clicked it and off it went now shuts down and starts up as it should!
