I think the problem is a lot needs to be added to Minecraft to make RayTracing look it's best. The sad fact is the workarounds studios have been using for years would look almost as good.
The true power of RayTacing lies in generational improvements, and proper leverage. I do think it will eventually transform the aesthetic of games, I'm just not willing to pay the obscene premium to enjoy it at a sub-par level. Give it another generation and developers spending a few years working with a standardised platform (ala Microsoft), then we'll talk.
I've never been an early adopter. Frankly, we should be thankful that people are willing to overpay for the latest tech, that's how it becomes affordable and mainstream.
