A different approach /attitude
And you would find someone in here
Who would look at it for you
If you're in bexhill there's definitely members in Hastings
Wouldn't be the first time a member has
Helped someone out just because they can
I have let a member come test his waterblocked gpu
On my loop after he had a disaster with a pc shop
Who didn't have a clue what they were doing with a water cooled loop

So..... have you tried turning it off and on again?

Seriously, OP, there is a problem which could be any number of things and OCUK have offered plenty of assistance to put things right, even though it may be something that isn't their fault.
The level of vehement opposition to this leads me to suspect that you FA'd and are now FOing. I mean, who throws away the box before they actually turn something on and test to see if it's all in good order?

Because I failed to keep the box, expecting it to work like all my other machines have, because i doubt I would ever see it again, because it would get even more battered on the journey each way, Anyway, the problems include constant cutting out for a variety of error messages, very slow running on even simple games, let alone the mess it makes of BG3 or similar, the fans running loud enough to drown out the room, which I could understand if it was five years old and hadn't been cleaned, rather than brand new, and no, im not getting inside it and fiddling about, any more that I do with a new car, I would be much more likely to do more damage than to put anything right. I ordered a new PC, not a DIY repair project.
Well, you come across like a petulant child. Maybe drop the attitude and speak to them respectfully and you might get somewhere.

These sound like fixable things, but being difficult to deal with will get you nowhere with anyone.

I live in Bexhill and have been building pcs for years. I don't mind looking for free and giving thoughts on what to do. Fan speeds, gpu drivers, software advice. But the return sounds best if it's actually broken.

How are they meant to know the very basics of whether it was their bad, the manufacturers bad or your bad if you refuse to send the product to them.

It's clearly beyond you so what did you think would happen. Here download this and it fixes everything that could ever possibly be wrong including misuse or defects?

Be very surprised
If they built it and didn't boot it up
And run basic stability tests
It might be a windows update issue or something

But as I said before
You may find a forum member near you
Kind enough to help you
And now you have one offered to do so

I reckon it's just something that's come loose in transit
That's also a possibility
To be honest we would normally have made
Suggestions
And asked questions to see what's going on
In more detail
But given the OP tone
We haven't done that
Yes I would be annoyed in their position
But with a forum of people willing to
Try and help
I would be rather grateful and happy
To get some advice and help

Exactly the same thing can and does happen with systems from every single manufacturer/system builder on the market, and many if not most are far worse than OCUK in terms of customer service and build quality.

You would be in exactly the same situation if not worse if you bought an Alienware or whatever else, maybe put it down to a lesson learned and keep the packaging of expensive products until you can verify they're working as intended. Having a box take up a little space for a week or two is hardly a heavy burden. Regardless, sourcing new packaging isn't exactly difficult and no doubt OCUK could point you in the right direction if not sort it out for you themselves. It's unrealistic to expect them to be able to properly test a PC by coming out to your home or whatever it is you might be expecting, returning faulty items is a perfectly normal procedure that pretty much every functional adult will experience at some point in their lives, and they're willing to sort the return out for you by having the thing picked up from your door.

I bought a custom build from ocuk and it arrived in Jan. One of the rgb led on one of the AIO fans appeared to have failed after two days. Called OCUK , spoke to a freindlt tech support person who asked me to send a couple of images.

He asked me to check for any loose wires after removing the back plate and there was one loose wire, plugged it back in and its fine.

Just call them OP!

Yeh... You've got 3 options...

1. Try and figure out what's wrong yourself with help from people on this forum.

2. Call customer support and see if they can identify the issue over the phone or however they handle stuff like this.

3. Send it back to them.

If you won't do any of the above then you can't be helped. Throwing a tantrum citing vague issues like 'error messages' and 'runs slow' isn't going to help you, or help anyone else try to figure out what the issue is.

I'm mostly on the side of everyone else, where the attitude on display shows a reluctance to getting it fixed, but on the other hand "send it back" is not as helpful as some think it is. Strangely throwing away all the packaging before checking it's working hasn't helped at all, but it's not like it's going to be a small box. It's a sizeable item, that needs proper insurance before posting. It'll cost a bit. It'll also maybe need some time off work to have it collected, if it was packaged well.
I'd be asking customer support what the options were, as I'm sure they will come up with a solution, and perhaps OcUK can organise the courier. Maybe they wouldn't be so nice given the attitude of the thread. :D

OP, it's easy to be angry, but you'll get better help by calming down and going through any troubleshooting. Explain your packaging/sending issues, and that can also be resolved probably. You're not the first person ever to receive a duff computer, and you won't be the last. Your next one from an alternate seller might be one too!
