Rugby union?

It seems to me as though many teams restrict themselves through daft selection rules.

Not selecting players cos they play outside the home region is crazy. When your career is one bad tackle away from over, who can blame you for playing for a french team and making bank.

National success will breed grass roots rugby. The RFU and the WRU need to wake up.

Double edge sword this. The premiership is in dire straights and breeding grass roots rugby needs people to be involved in their local clubs. National success is good, but players need incentive to play for home teams and keep the investment in the infrastructure of the game.

They should probably allow a small number of foreign based players rather than an outright block.

France were good but will need to step it up against some of the better teams. They were quite passive at the breakdown and mostly relied on Wales poor kicking and decision making to get the ball and run it back. Will be interesting to see how many gears they have left to shift up to.
