Rule Britannia or not?

Hearing those pieces performed live really is quite something. It's obviously cheesy but really great fun and quite uplifting. Anyone who reads malicious intent from those lyrics is obviously not doing their homework and needs to calm down.

It's as if some people have an axe to grind against anything related to national identity or British culture nowadays.

It also worries me that negative, divisive people like Kehinde Andrews are in our universities in a position of authority too. He literally has nothing positive to say about the UK.

It's stupid that this was even a story.

That it was even considered is bad enough. That it was even considered due to the hysteria over the death of a drugged up and violent career criminal in another country is just laughable.

I'd imagine it was Boris and the brexiteer(orchestrated in his tent) brigade,you should start a new thread with a poll to get to the bottom of it all?
 
Covid is a pretext, why aren't they removing the words from Jerusalem too,
or, as suggested on r4, allowing RB to be sung by a soloist, if it is covid

edit: I thought there was some discission on the distance aerosol would travel for brass/wind instruments ?

It seems the story came from (lightweight and well-known Brexiteer) MP Michael Fabricant who ran a poll on Twitter in reference to "rumours from sources" about the proposal.
