Rumble in the jungle: what animals would win in a fight?

A veterinary nurse once mentioned that cat bites are pretty nasty, whilst painful, bites can quickly lead to infections due to their meat diet.

The 69% who think they could beat a house cat have clearly not completed their training.

You don't beat a house cat. You simply learn to be the best servant you can be.

There is a cat, a proper bruiser, that wanders around here, I am sure its feral, crispy ears and battle scars, would I go near it, hell no!
.

I used to have exactly that cat. It attacked a postie in the depot where my ex worked and they were going to have it put down, so she brought it home. I wasn't pleased- a whacking great Tom cat with one ear, covered in scars.

Everyone's reaction on first seeing it was "Jesus christ, what is THAT? Is it safe?"

He owned the whole street within a week or two.

Dogs are hardly vegetarians

Yes but if you offered a cat a rich tea biscuit. Dogs have varied diets, whereas cats are like nope... it has to have come from something with a pulse.

@potatolord :D

Ex came home with a one eyed cat, the vets were going to put it down, oh noo, said lass brought it home, devil spawn

Funnily enough my cat loves eating bread. Go figure.. I'm not even sure she can digest it!

OCUK - whilst wild animals are indeed dangerous, the intelligence, quick thinking and strategic wherewithal i possess as a superior human means I think I have the edge.

Also OCUK - there's something odd about these happy birthday candles I bought....

In my opinion wild/feral Humans should be, in theory, an extremely dangerous animal.
It's more just modern Humans which are weak and pathetic.

Shame on those around who are saying they couldn't fight a house cat, they weigh between 10-20 times less than you, it's the equivalent of fighting a Rhinoceros for a cat.

Ironically enough it's out greatest asset that sets apart from other animals that is our biggest heel, our intelligence and everything that comes with it like compassion and empathy. Most humans defend against animal attacks and don't want to fight it so it's not surprising to me so many humans get owned by animals. Obviously there are some which is just insta GG like bears and big cats, but people losing a fight to a cat or a goose? take that person to the cliffs of Sparta and kick them off.

Pretty much. I think this would be a more accurate poll if you are allowed to use weapons just on the condition that it's homemade. Give me a club, sledge hammer or spear and I think the tide turns a lot. Maybe not against a bear but a dog/ wolf or eagle etc becomes a win for most people surely?

Are you fighting in a confined space aswell or do you get to walk down the animal?

Early man just scared animals away using tools and numbers. When the prey runs they just tracked it down until it couldn't run any more. People forget we are the endurance kings of the world. It's like those crap horror movies where people try to run away from the bad guy who's walking but end up dead anyway.

Animals overheat and need to rest far more than a person should. We just dont live as hunters anymore and have gotten lazy but the potentials still there.

If it was life or death I think I could take on the croc, wolf and then anything under and including the cobra.

Anything that is small, you wait for the attack and then use it as a bat against a wall or something.

You'd have to watch out for the fight in a lot of animals. The problem you might have is that animals put 100% into it and you would need to make sure you weathered that storm or restrained the animal in someway using your body weight.

Anybody thinking that they could take on a chimp/gorilla or bear is just out of their minds.

I guess some of those are possible if you could summon the aggression and fight like a wild animal. Most humans are going to curl up into a ball when attacked by a wild animal.
Anyone who thinks they could take a grizzly or an elephant is delusional though. I think you'd struggle to hurt one unarmed even if it wasn't trying to fight, just because of how big they are. As soon as it tries to hurt you, you're up slack alley.
