Does anybody else get this? When ever i go running, be it on station with the PE'd guys or by myself like i just have done, about 5 minutes into the run i start needing to be sick? I don't sprint so i don't think its lactic acid, and its normally an hour-two hours after ive eaten so i don't think its that, ive just been for a 2 mile run by myself now, stopped twice for 2 minutes because i was gipping, any ideas?

I've never had this. If I push myself really hard on an empty stomach, I get a lot of acid and feel quite sick, but thats at the very least 30 mins into the run. On the other side of the coin if I eat too close to the run I can feel heavy and sickly, but 2 hours is plenty. What are you eating before you run? Might be one for your GP this

Two hours isn't very long to wait unless it's something very light, just some fruit or something. I usually have to leave at least 4 hours after eating any serious meal before a decent run.

Might sound stupid but are you breathing correctly, I find that if I push myself hard shortly after a meal and don't concentrate on breathing (or if I hold my breath for spells) then I feel a lot worse than I otherwise would. :)

Hmm i might not be, whats the correct way to breath when your running? I thought you had to just forget about it and let your body breath how it wants to?

Might just be me but I find if I let my body do it's own thing while running I can get short of breath and more likely to get a stitch so I have to occasionally focus on forcing the breath to the bottom of my lungs and then forget about it again. Really though just do whatever works for you, if it is just a method of covering distance and keeping fit then there isn't a specific right or wrong way to do things that I know of. :)

I feel weak and sick after 2 hours of running. But never early into a run.
It's the opposite for me, I feel rubbish for for first mile or two but after 15 minutes everything feels great and I can just carry on until my legs run out of energy. Did 12.3 miles in 1hr 51min a couple of weeks go so looking okay for the Bristol half marathon next month.

I get the same troubles, but my stomach is dodgey anyway. I have to be very picky about what I eat and when, and even that doesn't help a lot of the time. If you find a way to cure it let me know. :p

There is no correct way, but i've always found that if you concentrate on breathing out your body will take in what it needs. I tend to beathe out sharply (concentrate on making a shape with your mouth) in time with every 3rd or 4th stride.

I know it sounds silly but it works for me.
