Was just wondering if with a powerful enough machine is there a way to run 2 copies of WoW at the same time, obviously to run 2 different accounts. Also if this is possible can it be done on dual screen.

The end result being logged into 2 different accounts on different screen but on the same PC.

Thanks R34P3R

Easily did it when I was running my AMD 3500+ 2gb RAM, and X800XTPE.

edit: not on seperate screens though, had to tab in and out

Reckon it would be possible on E6300 (stock), 2GB Ram, 6600GT on the 2 screens?

How do you actually get it to run twice aswell?

I don't need it badly, just be easier to heal bot myself with my priest on one account while i play my other char on other account instead of using 2 separate PC's.

Ain't cheating and ain't sad either. Guildies aint usually on at the tiems I sometimes play, ie 3-4am etc.

I don't belive two boxing is considered cheating per se, depends how you go about it. Manually healing your alt using another screen wouldn't be frowned upon at all but using any third party program to spam renews and shields for instance would probably be.

Anyone remember that old vid of the guy four boxing in av with four locks? He was using a program that made his other 3 characters mimic his spellcasting, think it was from the old days of silly sb crits before the negative resists nerf too ;)

Hell I've seen a video of a guy with six PC's together playing Daoc I believe and he had an entire party slaved to macros and he soloed dungeons and stuff with them ...

having a healer on hand if you ain't got any mates isn't a bad idea, I've dual booted WOW to run the GF through low level instances before, popped her on follow and run through it with my high end warrior, slowed the PC down a fair whack so I wouldn't do it on anything over SM but it was doable on a 3700+ san diego with a gig of ram, I should say memory was the only thing that slowed it down tho ...

You could run 2 copies of SWG on the same box, but it used to murder your PC.

Was long before dual cores and the like mind you.

I had 2 accounts for that, used to be so handy having an MD alt to buff your main - all the alt tabbing was a nightmare though :)

Hehe yea i used to do that for a while, and yea at first murdered my pc aswell then i upgraded and i think there was an option somewhere you turned off and it ran smoothly and tabbed really easily

to the original poster, just do what everyone else does, buy some healing pots, some food, and before you leave town, just ask out in shout if any priest hanging around mind buffing you with stam and maybe some drood buffs as well.

its what i always did.

ags

p.s. by the time you have tried to work this out, you could have lvled a few more lvl's
