When are Russians going to wake up and smell the coffee? a lot of supposedly educated Russians still support Putin and believe everything he says, looks like they're getting the government they deserve sadly.

They're being fed propaganda though, I work with a few Russkis who are vehemently against Putin and tell me about how their parents are brainwashed by the Russian media. Can't be easy for them witnessing this from our angle and talking to their family who witness it from the Russian angle, it's causing massive divides in their families.

On Sky News its just been said "Reuters: IS are claiming responsibility for the attack"

"Islamic State claims it carried out attack

Islamic State has claimed it carried out the attack on a concert hall near Moscow, the group's Telegram channel says."

I wonder who’s to blame, Ukrainian terrorists?

I suspect that's who they'll try to blame but I wouldn't have that down as the most likely (also Ukranian operations in Russia tend to be Russian paramilitaries and they're not particularly keen on killing Russian civilians, their beef is with Putin.)

A brutal mass killing of civilians like this smacks of Islamic terrorism, they have plenty of those from the Caucasus region.

Putin has been prone to false flags too but that was the apartment bombings, it's not very likely ethnic Russian employees of the FSB or GRU would massacre Moscow citizens indiscriminately, perhaps they could facilitate an Islamic Chechen or Dagestani etc.. group doing so

Scary the attitudes of people in here celebrating innocent civilian deaths.

NATO doesn't want peace, they are using every Ukrainian they can to dent Russia economically. So brave to carry on cheering a war when its not you having to go to the front line.
So brave posting war death stats not actually realising the suffering every day on the front line.

It is probably a younger demographic in this forum and all this military weaponary news/shipments must trigger some video game / movie type of perversed excitement.

When we had Iraq, the only information we had was Good guys vs Bad guys from the mainstream media. We had no other information to go off.
Nowdays there is so much more information out there to get all sides of the argument and to make a better judgment. Such a shame these alternative methods are not really used here.

I thought it was only the Russian authorities that described the actions of Western countries as the actions of NATO.

The West most certainly does want peace. I don't understand people who seem to think that the West wants to conquer Russia.

I have to say that I don't really believe in "innocent civilians". Children, yes, but adults, no. We all benefit from the protections our countries provide us with, we can't claim innocent when it comes to paying a price.

I only seen a 29 second video of the shooters from a distance but my impression was middle east terrorist type guys rather than trained European soldiers

Looks like i was right if this from Sky news is true.

What’s so civil about war anyway?
It feeds the rich, while it buries the poor.
You're power-hungry, sellin' soldiers in a human grocery store.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men, you just can't reach.

IS will claim anything these days, they yearn for attention. If it was them, I wonder if the UN veto had anything to do with it.

From the BBC -

Reuters news agency is reporting that Islamic State have claimed responsibility for the attack on its Telegram channel.

The report has not been independently verified. The group, also known as ISIS, has carried out attacks in a number of countries, however BBC security correspondent Gordon Corera notes that the group has at times in the past claimed responsibility for attacks that it had nothing to do with.

Someone could accidentally kill a mosquito and those prats would claim responsibility. Worse still, the press will lap it up and sell it to us for that sweet sweet ad revenue.

Well its not like Russia doesn't have a long long history of murdering Muslims, they committed a genocide in Chechnya not that long ago. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often tbh.

What would you have the press do, just ignore it?

Nah, but stick to the facts. Verified stuff, not "according to sources" nonsense. They cherry pick anything sadly.
