Russian Grand Prix 2015, Sochi - Race 15/19

It's still a long race, we have seen before that Mercedes are prone to copying each other on reliability issues.

I wouldn't say prone, it's happened once out of 8 Mercedes reliability issues, out of 9 if you include Lewis' engine setting fire in Hungary qualifying.

Vettel is +1 point on Rosberg if the race finishes as it is.

Seeing Rosberg in tears hurts, but he simply hasn't had luck nor the pace this year.

When you have 2 cars so far ahead the only hope of real excitement is if the 2 team mates are both on top of their game and their cars stay reliable so they fight, or you have some great inter team stuff lower down. I fear we have neither, I am disappoint.

Crofty is such an idiot, "already using fuel saving this early into the race" as if that makes it shocking. Fuel saving is heaviest with the car at it's heaviest and will be done the most at the start of the race.

Every race of the year they take it easier at the start than the end as it's just a lot more fuel efficient.

Also yeah, Merc's pace now, so much faster than the Williams.

My own take is I don't care where the action is on the grid as long as there is action. Seems to be a distinct lack of it so far. I think to some degree knowing the tires would last the race people were more aggressive last year. Had some good attacks around turn 3 especially. I think going with softer tires actually means people aren't quite sure if they can stick to a one stop of they push hard so are being more tentative and saving tires.

Wow

Grosjean wtf you done.

That took FAR to long to get the rescue crew there!

It didn't, it's the outside of a very fast and long corner, meaning they are completely blind of the incident till they come around the corner. You absolutely don't want to be a marshal on track there till the race is neutralised, no way at all.

Also not at all happy there with the cars speeding around turn 3 before reaching the pack behind the safety car. Was that Kvyat we saw absolutely killing it around the inside of turn 3 when he's only rushing to catch up a safety car. That I really hate, under a safety car but without the virtual one people speed through crash areas till they catch the pack which is inherently dangerous. They need at least the VSC out for the sector or corners the crash is in, they should be doing 50mph or something around turn 3.

That is a hell of a corner, it never ends and is very fast. The potential to have a massive accident there is huge. I think this wasn't a big one but a snap at pace would be huge, he got more of a slow slide.

Camera work is quality in this race, next to nothing happening and somehow they've missed everything that has!

That has been happening a hell of a lot this year. There are different race directors for some tracks, Monaco has it's own, I don't know if there is a new general director this year. So many accidents missed this year.
