Russian SU-24 - Shot Down by Turkey

Not really, Russia has been taking short cuts over Turkey for months now, the Turks have scrambled F16s multiple times and warned they'd shoot any Russian planes down, finally they did - Russia will just say a few words about it and be all bolshie, but not really care.

Turkey have confirmed that they shot down a Russian SU-24 warplane.

Russia claim they did not invade Turkish controlled airspace.
Turkey claim the Russian plane did invade their airspace, was given multiple warnings (reported 10) over a 5minute period before being shot down.

Interesting....

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the downing of a Russian jet at the Turkey-Syria border "a stab in the back by the accomplices of terrorists".

He was speaking live on state-owned TV channel Rossiya 24.

So that's going to spice it up.

Reports unconfirmed various places that both pilots are dead.

Unconfirmed reports also that FSA have shot down a Russian helicopter, which some claim to rescue/recovery helicopter. Again, not confirmed.
