Rust - multiplayer survival from the creator of Garry's Mod

My experience of Rust so far:

Waterfox - No 64-bit Unity player
Chrome normal mode - Can't even load the Rust page, says I'm banned
IE - Unity player instantly crashes after loading

Great value for money so far...

e: Chrome porn mode - Loads rust, doesn't crash....but stays on the loading screen forever

When I tried an earlier version with the free code, I was continually shot within 5 seconds of spawning. And what I did see didn't really impress me. I'm amazed people are paying more than $10 to have a go on the alpha... maybe it's improved massively?
 
I was keeping an eye on the auction earlier. At the $500 mark the counter went to "19 of 20" available. Who in their right mind would pay that for a game alpha?

Edit: Auction price seems like BS. I just caught the end of one. Clicked on it when there was 13/20 left at $1.67 but when I went through to PayPal it listed the price at $12.

They must have put a reserve on it,if your interested i`d buy while its 12 dollars around 7.50 uk. The auctions that i watched over the last 2 weeks have been averaging twice that.
Got it cheap before they change the auction again.

United Kingdom server :D

Having so much fun in this game, even when joining another server because ours went down, was fun starting with nothing, building a bow, killing some people, getting some armor, killing more people, getting a gun, finding a house with a wooden door, knocking down the wooden door, building a furnace, making a metal door, stealing their house.

Epic game.

Me "Are you friendly?"
Random "Yes."
Me "Good because I'm not."
Random has been killed by Me.

How can you tell the difference?!

In Chrome (after installing that terrible Unity player) it doesn't load at all, just displays the background of the webpage and doesn't do anything thereafter.

In IE I can sometimes get it to load, but then it will bomb out after a random time, anything between a few seconds and a few minutes. Throwing up error messages to send on to them and then having to re-download the game items again.

have tried multiple machines and doesn't seem to work on any of them.
 
I do run Win7 64 bit with Phenom x955 and GTX670.

Never had any problems with Chrome/IE/New Opera/Nightly.

All I get is random artifacts on the monitor from time to time which sometimes result in a full PC crash but that happened with several other games as well, so nothing to do with Rust.

And BTW, I would say the map is really big though only the central area is filled with people and resources.
 
Just bought this on an auction earlier, got it for £8. The auction went through at the price I bid at so it was either bugged for the people above or there is a reserve.

Will be on tonight, will join the UK server and hopefully meet up with some friendly ocukers :)

tried three machines, and still the same kind of stuff happening.

i7 2600k, 8gb RAM, 7850
i3 8GB, GTX460
i5 with just the built in HD Graphics (didn't expect this to work mind)

I guess it must be due to this DDoS stuff then? I'll try again tonight.

I'll try and identify you before I shoot but I generally attack everyone I see and where my base it it's by a highly populated hot spot so people are always coming through and getting attacked/attacking us :D

Looks interesting, I get up for work at 4 in the morning so might be able to grab it cheap, going for around 25/20 at the moment, so hopefully morning time I'll be able to get it for 15/10
 
Played this earlier, reminded me of my very first time playing Dayz, spawning on an island, with nothing, no idea where you are or where to go, good times :D
Is there a way to adjust settings in-game?
 
Can't seem to find any people to play with in-game. None of my mates interested in this type of game unfortunately. I've mastered going solo, I've got a ridiculous amount of resources but I just get done in because almost everyone else is in a team ;_;
