Ok let me work this out for you and all the others. When you play a game online PvE or PvP most of the PvE servers will be PvP unless admins are 100% present. Ok so when you see 3 big rocks you want to harvest the first thing you do is run right towards them without a care in the world BANG you are dead. You need to use a little bit of stealth, scan the area and all the rocks that look down on the area you want to get to. Please please for the love of god stop making posts about PvP when players just run about without a care in the world and die. Not aimed at just you btw.

This applies to EVERY online game with guns.

Has the loot been changed recently? Have been looting red bears and wolves and radtowns for hours and all I can get it blueprints for large wood storage and 9mm pistols (amongst the usual rubbish of glowsticks and chocolate bars). Haven't seen a single bolt action rifle or M4

On a similar note, does anyone know if the silence affects the damage of the weapon?

According to this link silenced weapons only do 80% of their base damage

I think that might be out of date as the silencer only affects distance, not damage.

Source: Rust Mythbuster 1 or 2, can't remember which.

Actually he's made a very valid point, i made the mistake myself.

Saw a air drop close to my base ran up to it and hid by some rocks untill in landed on the ground, went up to it thinking "ah hah" it's all mine BOOM in the back on the head. 1 Shotted and felt violated

Advice for beginners.

-Never travel at night unless you want to be castrated.
-Always do resource hunting in sections so Check the area mine, Check the Area Mine. For example taking the wood pile crouch while doing it. And have the least bit of kit on you (Food, Machete, and Pistol with Small amount of ammo, some health for the silly instances you get eaten by a bear, and last of all some pants) going out with all your main weapons full ammo and kevlar for resources will have all your good stuff gone...
-When you build bases use spikes not just one part all around, raiders will use any unused foundation to build stairs to try and infiltrate your base "Trust me i know" cause people went through all the effort to build a lovely stair case outside my base and even the effort to build over my spiked wall.

FYI Cocky's server is running smoothly now, and with Oxide installed! No commerce mod though.

This situ is similar to mine & a friend, don't get on much so as a result we have to forego the big base and instead live out of a little hidden place.

Not as fun as having a great base etc but means we don't start from scratch every time
