Rust - multiplayer survival from the creator of Garry's Mod

Everyone I know has stopped playing Rust. It was fun for the few 20+ hour sessions we had, building up a big base and getting blueprints. But as there is no overall progression, it also seemed like a massive waste of time.

While they don't seem to have a clear roadmap, or at least one being shared publicly, they are working on the game and do update the community weekly

I think the problem is that everyone has got bored already and moved on, so I personally wont try it again until release, which could be a long way off. if and when it does get finished though, and I am sure it will, it seems like its going to be very different game to the Alpha most of us enjoyed.

So its worth tracking, but not getting in at early access IMO

Still having a blast on this. The server I play on is in need of more players though (I'm running out of people to raid).

Check it out if you want a good server...

Anyone want to give this a go with me again getting an itch to play but could do with someone to play along with :D Add me on Steam: Stivalmighty my profile name is somehighmofo

From reading the Friday Devblogs, the game looks like it's going to be in a league of it's own once it's finished. Some of the concept art and things they are working on look really interesting but the way it is at the moment, it gets boring once you've built a house and got all the guns then been killed over and over by some knob. Unless you're in a group and go raiding but that's not my style.

Anyone playing experimental branch and getting really bad FPS? Seems to cane it on the CPU rather than GPU - is there anyway to change it? Have a 280x so should run it okay but goes down to a couple of frames per second near the waterline.

carnt belive people are still playing this

i pumped sooo many hours in to this game good luck with a release they really hacked off the steam community off by stopping the releases they posted pics on how amazing stuff they were creating but wouldnt up date the playable game, for months,

think all the hundreds of thousands that jumped on will not return here

Looking forward to seeing the experimental part off rust get a baseline released looking very good so far, new game engine meaning more real estate can be built on servers without lagging out and restarts etc.

The "experimental" version is now the live/default version. Latest dev blog: http://playrust.com/friday-devblog-28/

They are still working on it and it's not finished, but hopefully they will fix bugs faster now thousands are playing/testing it and reporting bugs they find.

Is it time for a Rust OcUK server? ;)

The game was being updated every week, you had the option to play the old version which had no more updates or the experimental version which was being updated via the launcher. Well afaik anyway.
