Rx480 prices.... mining?

I don't see the issue even if ocuk weren't charging the same prices, at the end of the day it is the going rate for 480s etc. now so people are perfectly entitled to list "their" product for that price too.

It would be a bit different if someone bought 3+ from somewhere and then came on here to sell them all for the much higher price but that isn't happening from what I can see.

EDIT:

Heck even gibbo himself is encouraging everyone to sell their 480s, 290s, 390s etc. etc. for silly prices.....

It's in the MM rules that you can't sell something for more than you bought it for. Personally I don't care either way, but rules is rules ;o

Well, seems like its ok for the store to do it but everyone else has to use ebay.

If ocuk are now charging £450 for RX480 does it mean we can sell them on Members market for market prices?
No because profiteering isn't allowed on the MM, you're not allowed to sell something for more than you paid for it even if retards on eBay are paying that. If forum members want to scam idiots out of their money they can just list on eBay, the forum isn't the place for that type of shenanigans as it's supposed to be a friendly place (hence an RX480 going for ~£150 on the MM last week).

Good luck, normally they fetch £150 (RX 480), so now whilst upto £500 is possible, seriously guys get them gone, because that buys you a 1080 or 1080Ti.
That's easy to say but firstly there's no guarantee Vega will be available any time soon, and nVidia still won't support FreeSync so they're not really an option for me, unless I could miraculously get enoguh money to get a 1080 Ti and run everything at 1440p 144 Hz locked. Not very likely though, £500 is way at the top end, most go for ~£300 from what I've seen.

Also, where to sell? The 'bay's returns policy is too risky and the plant based one doesn't command anywhere near as high prices.

Well since I bought my 290 for £310, I guess that means I can put it up for £250-300 then as I won't be profiteering from it ;) :p

But yeah I don't really care any way as I never sell old hardware and even if I did, I would never sell it on the mm due to 90% of people making silly low offers, if people want to sell their items at a loss then be my guest....... :o :p

you say that but is it really enforced - I've seen people get stuff for free and openly sell it on the MM and nothing has been done about it

couple of quick questions related to these cards.

how long do you guys think the shortage will last?? and when there is a supply will they still be at the £400 or so prices they have listed just now or will they drop back down to the mid £200s again???

Yup I've noticed that too, funnily enough there are a couple of dons who are reviewers and they do it....

I got no problem with people selling stuff on even if they got it for free but you can't have 1 rule apply to some and not others.

i see that all the time on facebook free pages. people get various items FOC then sell them on for decent money then complain when they get hate mail and abuse for it.

Dodgy selling cards on the bay to miners who are paypal savy, expect returns up to 180 days after purchase thanks to paypals 180 day return policy. Out of a card and hundreds of pounds. Ouch.

Aren't ebay or paypal the ones to cover any things like this as long as you are in your right i.e. you din't sell a faulty item or whatever?

Also, I'm pretty sure you can list the product as not being allowed to return etc. too?

Nope 30 days returns with ebay, 180 with paypal if used as payment method regardles if you offer returns or not. Sellers have little to no protection.

so we all know what the smart miners will be doing, essentially 170 days farming FOC then cards go back as faulty and start again????
