RX580 8GB Monitor Specs

It said 1ms GTG, so I assumed most monitors you read that have 1ms are talking GTG.

Only thing with this monitor is I cannot find many reviews on this one, only the red curved or 4k ones.

I think I may just take your advise and jump to the Acer KG271U.. take advantage of big screen and 1440p..

Im sure for the gaming I do I wont take advantage of 144fps anyway, plus im a more eye candy gamer lol.

Apologies I've just noticed the following actually between both ElectriQ monitors:

27" non curved version - 5ms response

27" curved version - 3ms response

To me it sounds like both monitors use difference types of panels, I reckon the curved could be VA while the non curved is TN.

Depends on which HDMI version it is, as to whether it can handle the higher frequencies. The AOC monitor I mentioned is supplied with an HDMI cable and supports 1440p @75hz.

Hard to find a decent review on the non curved one..

Seems like its down to 144hz over 1440p.

I've now pretty much decided that I will be going down the 27" 1080p / 144hz route most likely.

I had a play with a HP Omen 27" 1440p 144hz (well, 160hz but they say anything over 144hz is barely noticeable) in that high street store today and was blown away with how silky smooth it felt while in Windows and also testing out other tasks. 1440p is nice but say if I was to pair a 1070 with a 1440p panel, I would be pretty much stuck at 60fps or 70fps at a big push.

They also stock the Acer KG271 27" 1080p monitor which was also on display, and thankfully despite it being 1080p on a 27" it was a pleasantly nice picture and good for TN - however sadly it appeared to only be 75hz so did not go for it. However, it appears that Acer do more than one version of the KG271 but all look identical so be on the lookout - one of which is definitely 144hz and can be had for around £230 if you shop around. the Acer manufacturer number you need for the correct panel is UM.HX1EE.A05.

I would go for the better resolution all day long and twice on Sundays! A monitor is a big investment, why would you not get the best resolution possible? I sit a couple of feet from my 32" 1440p monitor with absolutely no problem at all. 1080p is sooo last decade....:p

The 27" 144hz non curved version of the ElectricQ does look appealing at the price but I've heard mixed things about these monitors in general, some people have received ones with various screen issues but many others have been over the moon with theirs.

Also the 27" in question appears to have a 5ms response time which is slightly concerning taking into account It's meant to be a TN from what I've seen so far (though could also be VA, the curved ones are meant to be). Regardless though I'll still do some more reading up on them.

On a decent 144Hz monitor you want to be looking at a maximum of 3ms grey to grey response time to avoid artifacts in the game, response times are not always equal so if you can find out the grey to grey response time. There are a lot of good unknown Korean brands but only a few export outside Korea and even then mostly to the US.

Mine had to go on the wall and I moved my desk back, heck it’s only 75Hz refresh rate but it’s amazing and I really appreciate the extra screen real estate, ultrawide is so immersive I would never go back! I bought it this year on sale and it replaced a five-year old 144Hz Iiyama 27” Monitor.

I think I will go for the Acer 27" 1440p Freesync monitor.. its only 75hz but if I am not playing competative gaming and would take "eye candy" over e-sports PRO performance then its prob the best option..

I had a look at that AOC 31.5" but the only downside is no VESA :(
