Ryan Davis 1979 - 2013

Surprised how gutted I was to hear about this. The whole gb crew do such a great job of building a community and that sense of belonging by following them. Been listening to the podcast for about a year now without fail and looked forward to it every Wednesday at work. Such a sad loss and not sure how well it will continue without him, such a big personality.

Brought a tear to me eye seeing pictures of Ryan through the years.

Feel like I lost a friend even though I never met him. Been listening to him for around 7 years. Won't be the same without seeing or hearing from him again.
 
Looks like Mr Davis Senior has cleared it up on his own Twitter.

Ryan died of natural causes, and mainly to do with Sleep Apnea.

Previous tweets of Ryan with a CPAP Machine, and his lack of sleep before his death kind of hints at the cause so it makes a lot of sense.

Didn't he also sleep with a breathing tube?

GB put up a podcast talking about Ryan.
 
Yeah that's what the CPAP Machine was for. He tried quite a few different methods. I do recall him talking about it a couple of times in many of their past podcasts in the usual off randomness chats.

Weight issues is one of the few causes for Sleep Apnea too, so Ryan being the jolly papa bear that he is, very unfortunate that would be part of the cause too. :(

I haven't listened to the current podcast yet, so who knows what stuff is said.

It's an excellent show, makes you realise that how he was on the podcasts and on the live streams is exactly how he was in real life too :)

Jeff's weight isn't at the point where he is too big to have serious health issues but he could lose a few lbs. Brad is the one that needs to be careful, his weight has just been going up and up over the years.

Podcast was great. Glad to hear them in such good spirits talking about Ryan's life. It did feel weird hearing those guys without Davis jumping in. Its going to take a while to get used to that.

They will be making a Ryan T-shirt up and the funds will go to Ryan's wife.

Never knew or even heard of the guy. RIP.

Isn't it a bit weird though for the father, to post pics of him naked as a child on the net? ESPECIALLY for America. I mean Europe that sort of stuff goes and even possibly accepted, but in America, its a big no no . Possibly even authorities going as far as arresting the father for distributing child pornography.

I know it sounds silly, but its the world we live in.

I'll miss the guy's voice on the bombcast, and it's a shame to see someone go so young no matter how much they've abused their body. But I didn't really know anything about him apart from that until listening to this week's podcast. He sounds like an 'interesting' character. Not sure I'd have been able to work with him. :-)
