Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 7 5700G coming in August.

So it should work out at approximately £300 and £220,if you include VAT and current exchange rates. Changes over the CPUs include a reduction in L3 cache to 16MB abd 24 PCI-E 3.0 lanes instead of 24 PCI-E 4.0 lanes. Essentially these are the Ryzen 7 5700X and Ryzen 5 5600 non-X in the range for now.

The Ryzen 5 5600G has been compared against the Ryzen 5 5600X by UFD Tech recently:

In most games tested it was between 10% slower to a few precent faster than the Ryzen 5 5600X. However,in the single MOBA tested(Valorant) it was around 50% slower.

The octa core Ryzen 5700G is a much more tempting CPU than the 5800X, if it does cost ~£300. I think it will become the 'go-to' gamers CPU for 2021. I suspect the lower amount of L3 cache will only make a marginal difference in games / other software.

I think it might make sense to sell a version without an integrated GPU, but only if AMD have the production capacity to spare.

The pricing is the AMD RRP,with VAT added and a currency conversion. It might be another £10 on top or so,but not much more IMHO.

But if the Ryzen 5 5600G vs Ryzen 5 5600X results hold true,then there are going to be some games where the CPUs pull ahead,and the lack of PCI-E 4.0 might be offputting to some. At least the Ryzen 5 5600G does pull the Zen3 price point closer to £200. Although it does appear the Ryzen 5 3600 might be soldering on for quite a while!

There were some rumours / screenshots showing Cezanne running at a higher DDR4 RAM speed, than previous Ryzen CPUs, I wonder if there could be any truth in this?

Also, I wonder if AMD will lock down the overclocking on the 5700G, to leave space between it and the 5800X? Or, maybe only use low end silicon that can only overclock a tiny bit more than the advertised speed?

It has been nice to see AMD convincingly beat Intel on performance and power efficiency in 2021, I think 2022/2023 will be tough years for Intel. AMD could still improve a lot on pricing though, but their sales have improved and they are making a lot of profit with the Ryzen 5000 series, so can't see it changing drastically.

Use a graphics card? Are you realistically going to get 120 FPS on an integrated GPU? The GPU is bound to be the cheap bit of the chip to produce, it's a small bonus / backup really. Although, I agree, it it would be nice to see a cheaper version w/o the GPU.

On the desktop I said, not gaming, it's 2021 and AMD is still pushing 5 year old tech in its APUs.

The dies are totally different. In fact, in terms die-area per pound, Cezanne gets you 156mm² rather 82mm² of Zen 3 (plus IO chip and possible more expensive packaging).

However, if there is any need to bin against desktop Cezanne APUs it might be that they use the 'better' dies for mobile. However, what is better for mobile (mostly power usage) might not be better for desktop. Dies which are a bit leakier might actually be good for desktop clocks.

And it is still apparently outperforming the 11700 quite significantly. Why worry about it when it seems to actually be performing reasonably assuming the slide is realistic.

Doesn't it and Renoir support DP 1.4? Pity that most TVs don't support though. I guess DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 is not an easy or cheap conversion?

Still a disappointment. Was hoping that with consoles done (unless Sony want to pay for a 6nm/5nm port for the PS5) AMD would now have more resources to upgrade the display parts amongst other things.

Yeah, this would be great. A cheaper Athlon branded version of these, a salvage part with defective GPU dies.

As things stand, there's still no answer to the 10th and 11th gen I5 CPUs for £150 and under price / performance.

Individual listing for the CPU's appear to yield little results apart from overpriced.

And PC listings seem fairly sparse in budget, saw some Lenovo small PC's that were spot on, but on a deal price, we wouldn't be able to buy them in time likely though etc.

We've asked for a quote from the OEM we use, but thus far haven't heard anything.

How much are you expecting to pay for them? The 4650G currently run at about $230 before import burden, and depending on what volume you buy etc. The are OEM only so you do need to use a distributor, or a specialist supplier to get decent pricing and volume, the prices have been up and down recently as you can imagine.

I think we may need to go the 4300GE route, but would rather push to 4650G as they will stay put till refresh 5 years down the line.

Think we've asked for a few different options for quotes, so we'll see what we get.

We did buy in a load of 2400G's couple of years ago and they were available and not too badly priced for the 18 we bought at the time.

I was looking forward to these but sadly they are just as overpriced as the rest of the 5000 series. I will heed Journeys advice from another thread and try to pick up a resonably priced 4000 series for my wife's pc.

I only really see one Xenta 4650G at 450, it's got no OS. I mean I know we stick our key on them, but we always buy with licenses as it can be weird otherwise during deployment.

The Ryzen 5 3400G ones are significantly cheaper. The price fluctuates a lot though - just look on HUKD for the Ryzen 5 4650G/4600G or Ryzen 7 4750G/4700G,and there are at least 3 retailer selling different systems. I can't mention them here OFC.
