Agreed. I'm fine waiting in a queue if there is comms. There was a commitment made to update everyone on a Friday update on the queue. Last update, "300 5900x arriving this week". I'm about 200ish. Then, nothing? No update email, no nothing.

Add to that I ordered stuff off the website that was in stock last weekend, and i've still not had any comms on it a week later. I get things are a little delayed with COVID, but its pretty **** poor customer service to have zero after a week. I've got to order more bits this weekend, and I'm at the stage where I'd prefer to just order from the online bookstore and pay a bit extra because at least I've got a good idea it'll show up in the next few days. It's really not a lot to ask.

And I know there will be the "hey just be patient man...". Well, if they only took the money off my account when they shipped, I'm sure it would be a different story completely. It's easy to drag your heels when you've already been paid.

Yeah I think this is a large part of it. Other retailers do only take your money when the item ships (or they at least have the item in stock!).

Taking your money and then basically "going dark" - well, it's easy to question this kind of business model.

Your argument is defending and backing up crappy business practices of OCUK. Its nothing about being a realist its just schilling for something anyone with common sense can see is a dodgy practice. Lack of updates to boot on dodgy practice makes it even worse.
Its been a month since release. We've had so few updates, emails for queue have not come out and many are not receiving order shipped notices whilst at least 30 have received them.

There is discrepancy in which orders are being fulfilled and OCUK have people who work on weekend but they are never customer care people they are just in house order management folks.

Attempting to defend lack of communication and defend bad business practices is just stupid not rational.
 
If you don't like the way they do business, take yours elsewhere and then everyone's happy.

This is what i done. Was unhappy with the pricing compared to other stores and even more unhappy with it now. So i will be buying from elsewhere when finally available. happy to wait not happy to get ripped off.

For one, I am not defending anyone and never stated their practices where stellar. I did however, in the OP i made say, and i quote: 'What if they never stated there was a queue system', then there would be no updates for anyone to complain about. I am not defending, backing up ro schilling anyone, they do not know me and i do not know them, I'm speaking my mind and using common sense, nothing more, nothing less...

Oh and i'm Generation X, not a boomer :)
 
This thread is getting very toxic. Everybody needs to calm down haha. It's not like anything said here is going to make the orders ship quicker...
 
People here are shilling but think they are not.

1) 300x 5900X are coming in this week
2) No queue update/shipping info this week
3) No update to say 300x didn't arrive

It takes literally minutes if that to update a post. Add on top, it's their job, they are not here for charity.

Right now the company is in a position where they are either lying or just bad at their job. We are allowed to call them out considering it would take but a moment for them to get it all sorted.

This post I am making, and the ones you have all made demonstrate how easy it is to provide an update.

Ready... I will do it.

Bad news guys. The 300x 5900X we were expecting to get in this week came in late/didn't come in. Therefore we will ship them out next week as soon as possible. After that round of shipping we will update everyones queue position, keep checking your emails next week.

A week and a bit ago I was around 795 in the queue for a 5900x. I just received a shipping email stating they shipped my 5900x. Ummm, wow. How is that possible?

And we just installed a 5950x we managed to get from another website thinking we may not get one til the end of the year, early next year. So now I need to figure out how to return the 5900x coming our way. Can we refuse the delivery and end up just paying for the shipping? I feel bad but at least someone will then get that 5900x we do not need.

On the plus side for others, perhaps they got the shipment of 800 5900x in?

Sorry to bust your bubble, but I am not a troll. Feel free to believe what you would like but I did receive an email. At first I thought it was the 6800 I managed to get a few days ago but upon looking, it is in fact the 5900x. I also received the Far Cry email. We were waiting to confirm the 5950x we picked up at another shop worked fine before cancelling the order.

I can't force you to believe me but hey, your lack of trust does not affect me. Perhaps others down the queue will have also received a shipping email.
