ryzen price drops?

The drops on the 1900X takes some of the sting out of building a TR4 system.

agreed... i'm watching the 1920x price currently...

seen it around for about £650 or so lately... a surprisingly decent drop from what it was at launch :D

hoping it drops again over the next few months while i build up the rest of my TR4 system and get the processor last lol

That's a big drop on the 1800X and 1700X. A $10 difference between the 1700 and 1700X makes the 1700X feel like a better choice. But surely it's a sign the Ryzen refresh is nearly here :p?

9% off a Ryzen 5 1600 and 14% off a Ryzen 7 1700 are pretty significant as those are already bargains.

Ryzen 1600 currently at £180 - 13.7% would make it £155.... that is a nice price. :)

just a shame anything you are saving is ruined by ddr4 if you need it too. its like robbing peter to pay paul so to speak.

You need to factor in the cost of an AM4 Mobo + DDR4 ram if you do not have either of those.
and tax  it amazes me how many ppl look at dollar pricing and forget that.

@Gibbo When are the Ryzen drops happening here?
Long & short of it, as of two minutes ago there is still no official word from AMD UK on these reports. Until they confirm and detail how any price drop is going to be carried out, we're stuck twiddling our thumbs.

I may be wrong but I haven't seen any guarantee that these will have the Samsung B-Die? They may have had it at some point and they may still, but that could change if they don't state specific ICs. The 8Pack DIMMS are guaranteed.

You're right they may not be, they are non the less 3200Mhz with CL14 timings, if they are not Samsung B-Die then they are just as good, no other IC's that i know of give 3200Mhz with CL14 timings.

PS: that is the same speed and timing as the 8Pack ones. :)

The Ryzen 2 is scheduled for release in April. They announced it this morning. Pinnacle Ridge in April and Raven Ridge in February
I'm tempted to get a X370 off MM with RAM buy a 1600 then upgrade later, or should I just get a 8700k? I hate buying new parts for them to be outdated within the year, that is why I love this 3570k so much, it holds it own against any 4c/4t CPU still.

Built my nephew a system based on the 1700x when the ASUS deal was on just before Christmas, I think the 1700x was £240 then but you got 2 decent games with it too, bought a cheap ASUS motherboard, some 3000Mhz RAM at £150 and an M.2 NVMe drive. The PC absolutely blazes. I didn't think at the time but should have got myself the same deal, may well do so now when the price drops come through.
