What are the wear rates & replacement costs on consumables such as tyres?

I'm classing them as consumables as i'm assuming they don't last all that long when giving it stick?

Hi there

£250 each on the rear and £260 each on the front. Not too bad but I do get trade and cash price on tyres. :)

Blimey, quite a lot then. How frequently do they have to be changed?

Out of interest, what is the profile on them?

Hi there

The rears are 275/45/20
The fronts are 275/40/20

At the moment car has 7000 miles, rears have approx 4-5mm left. I suspect by 10-12k they will be down to 2-3mm and due for replacement. The fronts have hardly warn. :)

They seem good wearing, not too soft and good all round dry/wet grip tyre.

Very nice. Gonna pull like a train!

Been a group buy on these on S2000 forums, look at the size of them http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g54/Bibbs_1977/DSCN0938.jpg

Penski, that method is no different to a turbo, both mainly rely on the compressor map to match the compressor to the engine/user requirements. You can run turbos on high static CR engines. You going to struggle to find anything near to 120% VE on a NA engine too.

New superchargers are being developed with gearboxs to allow much more boost low down :D

The charger is kicking in full boost on mine around the 2000ish area I think or certainly beginning to build nicely, hence my traction issues in 2nd. If I give it part throttle and then nail it the back-end just digs in and the force pushing you back is just amazing, never felt anything like it. :D

Hi there

Well its been wet today so hard to really have fun. However I've found that if travelling in 4th at 1000rpm and then just flooring it still makes me :D :D :D as it pushes you back and off its goes, plus no traction issues even with the wet.

Fingers crossed for some dry weather these next few days. :)

How many OcUK memebers can fit in the back of a Mustang to stop it spinning on the rollers? ;)

Hi there

Well as long as we all have a big breakfast I am sure two can get in the boot and three in the back at a push. When we last went PowerStation I noticed the software had options for sub 500BHP and over 500BHP so I am sure their rollers can cope. Might just need a few volunteers to weigh the car down. :D

Hi there

Well sussed 2nd out now and OMG it gives you that stomach in your mouth feeling. Really happy with it! :)

Been upto 5000rpm now and it pulls so damn hard it fricking amazing. :D

Doing 50mph in 4th and planting the throttle see 120mph in just a matter of seconds, crazy stuff. :)

LOL, sounds proper stupid, you've gotta be well chuffed. :D

Hi m8

Yeah well chuffed with it. I took Phil out earlier (Fatboy) who's been in both Spie's M5 and F575M and I did a 30-100mph pull in 3rd. His words was it pushed him back and seemed to accelerate quicker than both the M5 and Ferrari. But don't tell Spie! ;)

Definetely impressed, damn thing is bonkers and now got the trick with 2nd and can start working on 1st now. :D

Basically floot to the floor in 2nd between 1500-2200rpm can result in the rear end stepping out. Flooring it past 2500rpm and the rear seems to dig in nicely and then its just case of holding on. :D

That sounds fantastic, Andy. I'm surprised I've never seen you around in that car. Would love to check it out.

Hi m8

Did you not know?
Its faster than the speed of light! :p :D

Thats why you aint seen me. ;)

You going to the RR? If so you will see it then? Plus if you are going we need to organise a convoy down the M6. As there is myself, Jedifragger and yourself and no doubt a few more people going down from around here too. :)

Well I was supposed to be running a drift course at Oulton Park on that day, but as that's now been cancelled by the fun police I may well pop down to the RR thing instead. I can't run the CSL (long story, it won't work though) but I may pop along to mingle...

Hi m8

Well if your still in Alsager thats pretty much on my way so you could always catch a lift down with myself if the CSL is mis-behaving.
