If there is functionality missing it's the first thing I look for - really it's that simple. If it's there at the top of the page...

Maybe they should replace it with an image of the text with a red line through it, or redirect the page to an under-construction one.

Yeah but, If someone new (or doesnt know about the lack of buttons) logs in and see's there isnt a search button and then looks down a few pixels he/she would see a great big thread about THE SEARCH FUNCTION, thus, in my eyes answers his or her question right away with out opening up the thread.

Personaly I would automaticaly presume there is a problem with the search button, yes I know not everyone on here would think that but, hey its a start.

Actually when I initially went looking for it there was nothing on the first page this morning. And honestly the first place I looked was in the stickies up the top followed by a couple of pages.

I use Firefox and keep a folder called "threads" in the bookmarks toolbar. Any thread I want to watch I drag n drop the URL into it.

Or, I am also beginning to use the FireFox Update Scanner - you can add pages and it'll check the page every 5 minutes for updates, and notify you when one has been updated: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3362

Can't the mods sticky this in the middle of the forums so that when people browse for threads they'll see "**********************"

Or even when you click on General Discussion have a little message saying "The Search Function is Down. Press okay to proceed to GD" there was something similar in Sales regarding the FAQ
