Yeah nowhere near the standard of Half Life 2, but still looks good considering how late it is

You can definatley tell its been held back a couple of years though, still, looking forward to playing it

I *still* don't understand those who say it looks better than Half Life 2. Seriously, no way does HL2 come even close. Looks like you guys have stopped playing HL2 long ago, and forgotton how blurry, blocky and bland the buildings and environments are.

I have to admit, the graphics feel quite gritty and realistic, but i feel that they are just outdated when it comes to textures and especially the weapons, SOF2 has similar textures

now i just KNOW you are winding me up. SoF2?? That's crazy talk. The textures on this game are the best I have seen to date.

It isn't shiny, but it IS very realistic looking considering.

I'm not winding you up!!! the gun textures are blurry and lightin effects on them are pretty much non existent....they remind me of SOF2, which is why i said it

I got that as well, had to download from a mirror in the end....couldnt get it going in either firefox or IE :-S...when my mate gets back i'll try get you a mirror link

One thing that does annoy me is I think the guns take up too much of your FOV, especially the larger machine guns.

you need to install version 3.00 first then the 3.00-3.05 version. Which is well over 2gb download.

EDIT: Well worth the download though, this is what HL2 SHOULD of been, the textures are simply stunning, and music is very well done.

Just finished an exhaustive ( O.K 20 mins ) testing of STALKER.

Only played on one level " ? factory " I think.

Settings on high / dynamic lighting ( as the game defaulted to ).

Pretty average graphics 6.5 / 10

Game play - shoot other STALKERS / earn money / buy weapons / shoot more STALKERS.

Alright , i can't possible judge 20mins on a Beta.

But nothing like ( i.e hype/5years in the making ) i was expecting.

Neutral vote for STALKER.

I took a screenshot ( using F12) but can't find where it is stored

Are there any other site i can get this BETA off??. Gameplay doesnt seem to work as it doesnt want to accept the code no matter how many times i enter it correct.

UPDATE : Settings on every max. i could find in the options ;

Pretty Good Graphics 8/10

Losing FPS, obviously , but thats my system. Not the game.

By code - you mean a beta key ?

If yes , then as posted earlier you must type the key and press "Enter" and not just click.

This replaces your key number with a load of "XXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXX "

I cant seem to get that to work either, If there is a gamespy logo in between words what does this mean? i enter them with no spaces and it still says Invalid text :confused:

Ignore the gamespy logo(s). Type in only the letters you see, without spaces. I did mine with all caps lock on, it doesnt seem to be context sensitive. It will only work on Internet Explorer, so have a crack on that.

Thats if you want the cdkey that is

for the actual cdkey input on the server list, I have no idea why that would be refused.
