S.T.A.L.K.E.R Collectors Edition and further confirmation from THQ regarding release.

Alough I kind of lost hope a year or so back, even now I'd still buy it, obviously a game in the works for so long such as this has to be good, like Oblivion etc.

I'll buy it, maybe the collectors edition, alough I've never bought an collectors edition before, didn't see the point in a tin box with a few bits and bobs still looks pretty cool.

one retailer has the STALKER collectors edition listed for £34.99

Ive cancelled my pre order for £29.99 I had with another retailer and decided to pay a fiver more for the other cool stuff, ive also heard this pack will be extremely limited.

Thanks for the update. I am not that bothered about the collectors edition. I still have mine on pre-order for £17.99 from a couple of years ago.

Will this game be fully functionable with Vista???

sigh....i want to get excited about this game but cant, i just feel dissapointment all over it.

meh no need to feel that way any more really at least the damn things coming, ive waited 5 years for this!, two months won't kill me.

as for working in vista nothing has been said yet id wait for more confirmation but i really cant see why it wouldnt.

Reminds me of boiling point road to hell then by the sounds of stalker. Tho with much less rpg elements. (maybe just cause clone perhaps)

Hope its got a lot of interactivity and sub missions ala gta games missions. Will be really fun if it has and has a nice huge world which it has "30km". Just hope its not all generic stuff to fill the place.

Your spec should handle it fine, remember the game was supposed to come out the time your specs were at there prime, i think you should be ok with it, i just chose current gen cards as the general guide, as for the game, here is more about the game from the wiki, its kept up to date very often infact i updated the release date, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:_Shadow_of_Chernobyl more info about the game and the ups and downs of development, the game is infact a shadow of its previous self but does this make it worse hell no its still going to kick major arse!

Excellent, so it should run aswell as HL2 etc?

looks good & sounds good but i just hope it is not like boiling point road to hell !!! ;-(.

i will be getting the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Collectors Edition too ;-)

Stalker was supposed to come out at a time when the X800s and 6800s just came out, so I think anyone with a 7600/X1800 will play the game just fine :) I'm looking forward to it myself.

I just thought about that as I was tempted to pre-order for that price but did'nt in the end, Im guessing it wont take long for it to pop up again at around that price tho as games normaly do.

I may buy this tinbox providing i can find it for sub £30 if not then will find normal for sub £20.

Seems this year is going to see a good start for pc gamers if you ask me :D as there is a number of great games coming out

You have to be joking, wtf it looks intense as hell, it looks up to standard for todays games anyway. This has got me mega hyped looks like its running great aswell.

Another Update:

A new dev diary as of today from THQ

"GSC SHEDS LIGHT ON S.T.A.L.K.E.R. FACTIONS
As you may have noticed from www.man-made-hell.com, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. now has a release date. And so what better time to reveal a few more juicy morsels of information?

Indeed, the latest S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video - factions, is playing now on THQ TV.

Read on for the full faction descriptions from GSC themselves..."

THQ also have the 23rd date posted on the site now.

Media literally coming every day now, makes up for 5 years of nothing i guess

From what the video:
Crappy models, Crappy animations, very floaty looking. Shadows look very nice in dark shots, but on some shots there's no shadows at all.
