S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl & Clear Sky Complete MOD issue

HI All,

I was about to come in and a make a thread on Stalker and mods etc as i know from reading previousy there are great ones out there:

My question is this,
I have a reasonably high spec pc
8gb of ram
a Ivybridge i5 3570
And a 7850 2gb

I havent played this game before,
What ones should I download?
IM interested in stuff that makes the game better really all round.
Graphics and gameplay etc
Although if it helps, I found hardcore mode on New vegas slightly annoying
Oh and i have the first one, Shadow over chernobyl
Cheers :)

Pretty much all of them should work perfectly fine. Downloading Call of Pripyat and Misery mod. It really is fantastic.

Yeah im having a hard time getting across a bandit camp atm, there are about 10 of them and 1 shot kills and extreme radiation with no rad resistant clothes = a nightmare :p

Oh god, and Pripyat is much harder than SoC as far as stuff like bandit density and horribly set up camps go (horribly as in; no cover, lots of bandits and lots of hazards. :p), so Misery might push ahead of that AK mod thing at certain parts. Great. :(

If you have Shadow of Chernobyl then you'll be alright for specs, max everything People Soup/Complete Mod will throw at you easily, as I can and have the same rig but half the GPU grunt. I'd recommend picking up Call of Pripyat right now while it's on sale and getting Misery, Misery Pripyat blows all of the other S.T.A.L.K.E.R titles away completely, and they are awesome so imagine how great Misery is. ;)

You might wanna try Tibbz AFK mod thing though if you don't wanna get Pripyat just yet. You'll max Misery too btw, but Clear Skies complete you probably won't as fully maxed out with Complete, my Clear Skies pushes about 10fps. :D

Yep, SOC. :)

Sweet, does the Steam version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s have their onlines working? :p

Haven't got around to Misery yet, got it bookmarked for the 2.0 release. As I love such brutal survival gameplay it sounds like it'll become my fave Stalker mod and change that of the three I've spent the least amount of time on CoP... SoC the most, between Complete, LURK, OL, etc.

Anyone know why my health starts falling on Misery and won't stop? I've used all my bandages and there is no bleeding, used a Medkit to get my health back to max, but it still kept draining afterwards, all the way to 2 blocks and stopped, now I can't move faster than walk.

Did you apply the patch? Sometimes it takes quite a few bandages to stop the bleeding. Have you picked anything up that might cause bleeding, such as an artefact?

Haven't patched it no. :p

I just had the boat wheel artifact from the run down ship that the Bandits try and get off you, don't think that caused bleeding but I'll deffo patch, does it mean I'll lose my save?

Let us know if it sorts things out for you. It should do. :)

Yeah, the X-Ray engine is hardly the most solid piece of engineering out there, though one or two mods I've played have been practically stutter free.

I still have really weird issues, I was attacked by two Alpha Dogs and wounded pretty badly but luckily had 2 Nagant rounds so killed them, stopped my bleeding treated my wounds barely enough to sprint, and went back to that ship, got fixed up, but now I can't use my knife at all. One of the Alphas bit me which made me put my knife away (it's still in the Inventory) and ever since I cannot get it out.

Hmm...not sure what to suggest, apart from a reinstall of the game and mod. :/

Alternatively, there's the moddb comments section of the Misery mod, or there's the GSC forums.

Have you lost your original knife and picked up another one?

Nah, same knife as I literally went straight back to Svordsk thing, don't think there's a mod issue, it was a 100% fresh install of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and the mods working fine, maybe my arm is broken or something. :D

As I'm sure you're aware, the class you choose at the beginning has a bearing on sprinting / maximum weight carried, (which might be related to one or more of your issues). I forget the names of them, but for my one and only play through so far, I went with the guy that could carry the most. Despite that, the game still needed patching, as the lack of stamina at times was quite annoying.

Maybe the patch on an existing save broke my knife. :p

I chose a sniper guy, but didn't see any issues before the patch tbh except bleeding being ridiculous, I'm still losing life though, those Alpha Dogs dropped my HP low, even after I fixed my bleeding and what not my HP was still draining. Exactly how complex are the hidden mechanics to survival and damage?

It's been a long while since I've played Misery, but I do remember how little the med-kits helped. Stock up as much as you can on food, ammo and bandages. You'll need more than one of each to make a real difference, at least for most situations anyway.

Also, there is an artefact called a 'Kolobok', which 'I think' you'll find at the Oakpine anomaly. That will boost your health by either +1 or +2, which will be invaluable in a mod like this. I don't think it carries any radiation, though I won't swear to that. One or two other artefacts that will come in handy are the 'Bubble', 'Goldfish' and 'Flame'. Collect artefacts to reduce your reliance on med-kits and bandages.

Misery has dependency? Bloody hell, is there any way to survive on this mod? :D

3 Bandits and 2 Alpha Dogs and I'm broke and pretty much killed beyond repair. :p
