I thought the Iraqi officials said only one recording was made of the execution? This latest video is from a different camera angle, showing the same events as in the previously released videos (scarf-like thing being placed around his neck, noose being fastened etc.)

Bit sick IMO if that's floating about. Personally I'd be backing long term punishment rather than a quick fix. I know if I had commited such alleged crimes against humanity I'd be releived at a hanging. (I'm normally pretty well right of centre but think this whole thing is a joke)

He drops about 7ft through the floor..whoosh! Thats all you see. Then the camera phone guy runs down stairs to see. Theres a lot of shouting and stuff. You see Saddam hanging, well his face anyway.

I can't see the humanity in hanging another man.

Yep, that's one of the few things I have against the whole thing.

Neocon, the rope is supposed to be loose IIRC, the aim is to try and snap the neck rather than just slow strangulation.

The method of capital punishment in America varies from state to state as it's not a federal but a state decision.

Some are hung, others have the electric chair, leathal injection, and I think some still have a shooting line.

In 2006 USA executed 53 people.

All by lethal injection except one. I can't believe they still use the electric chair!
