Lethal injection is arguably cruel and unusual, which means it is technically illegal under the US constitution. There is no need to collapse the lungs and stop the heart in the way they do. It would be easier and cheaper and less painful to do it with a huge whack of barbiturates.

actually, there is some debate on how long you're alive after a hanging...
hanging basically breaks your neck, and drives your "peg" of your spine into the spinal column itself, thereby paralysing you from C1 downwards... you die thereafter because you cant breathe.... since the nerve impulses cant get from your head to your diaphragm....
so, there are some that say you are alive after the hanging just like being alive after the gulliotine....

I just watched the hanging video - but I closed the window as I saw his body drop - thought that was enough - somethings scar your mind... Just didnt want to see the moment his neck snapped even tho I saw him drop
