Saddam Hussein Executed

Dont know what I think of this tbh, on one hand Saddam was an evil man who thought nothing of killing and torturing people for decades and of course deserves the strongest punishment going.

But does killing him make us any better than him? It's double standards from the UK really as we don't allow it here but are prepared to turn a blind eye to this.

Very contentious and difficult situation really I suppose there was no possible satisfactory outcome for everyone.

Had a good rofl at a few of those :D.

Knowing he was going to die must have driven him crazy in his mind. :(

precisely but what about those officials he sentanced to death when he came into power he basically sat there with a cigar in his mouth etc and just pointed at officials to be executed later in the day, he has now felt or did feel what it was like.

As did the majority of his victims, not quite such a "rofl" thought though.

I read before the execution that the reason for filming it was because the Iraqi people would not be convinced that it had really happened as there would be no evidence of it.

There is nothing to say that these images/video are to be released to the masses....yet
.

Sooner or later the video will be made public - mark my words. I mean why film it to "convince iraqis" and not release it to the masses? My thinking anyway

Also, 9 men were put to death in Ipswich in 1555 - for reading/preaching the Bible in English! (Christian protestents) they were "burned by the steak" - and are now called the Ipswich martys - who have a memorial I believe :)

Iraq officials have stated a video and stills will be released shortly.

Iraqi officials dont have a clue some will argue and are a puppet of the americans. Releasing a video makes us barbaric as those who killed kenneth bigley and post the video on the web.....

 Crikey!

Are you saying he killed people due to the reason in Antx777's list?

It appears that this sorry excuse for a human has finally been dealt justice (legal or otherwise). Was the trial legal? Pff! a minor point in my opinion and one that will soon be forgotten.

I would never be able to understand the saddos who feel the need to defend such horror as this sociopathic, megalomaniacal butcher was responsible for by even mentioning the legality/legitimacy of the actions of certain Western leaders.

I hope his extermination was particularly slow and uncomfortable with a crane lift as opposed to a scaffold drop.

I for one shall be dancing around showing off the soles of my slippers!!

pretty much a non event as far as i am concerned. it's hardly going to change anything is it?

Except a few more soldiers will probably lose their lives in the coming weeks.
