Saddam Hussein Executed

I don't think he should've been executed, especially given our governments stance on the death penalty. How can our government now say in the international stage that the death penalty is wrong when we allow this to take place?

Saddam will now become a martyr to his supporters and I think the situation in Iraq will get a lot worse once his death has sunk in.

Can't say I'm going to miss him. Regardless of the whole 'occupation' scenario, he was a cruel man. What goes around, comes around; he got what he deserved.

I agree with Rob that no one really deserves death, but lets be honest; the world isn't always black and white.
 
I for one am disgusted and ashamed of the execution of saddam, despite the horrific crimes he committed. I don’t believe in capital punishment under any circumstances, and think this set a worrying precedence. It achieves very little in the sort term, and I’m convinced it will prove to be a grave mistake in the long term.

oh he's slaughtered many more than just a hundred, the man was a tyrant. He took the life of innocent people (children, women, men) and he's now returned to the dust of the earth where he came from!

i hope bush is happy that he has managed to do what his daddy couldnt. that was the whole point of this war right?

and hanging is a bit extreme these days, he was a beaten man when they dragged him out that hole, prison would have been fine for him.

Type 'kurds chemical attack' into google and read through the first website found, then come back here and tell me that man did'nt deserve it, that site brought a tear to my eye when I first read through it, words can't describe the suffering this man has caused, be warned though, that site is'nt for the faint hearted.

Would someone like to explain how Blair is responsible for the hanging of Saddam? As in... he will hang rather than go to prison. I don't really understand how these claims can be made against him, and particuarly comments that Blair is 'evil'.

Just watched that cnn video of them putting the noose around his neck. Even thought he deserved what he got, makes you feel quite sad because its death.

LOL I always got to laugh at that. Tue Kurds aren't his own people, he despised them.

Doesn't make it right by any means but you shouldn't sensationalise it like that because it ain't true.
