Well no not really in the vid it was weird because you see him drop and like you do hear a bang but maybe its the trap door idk, but then someone puts their hand over the cam phone then like a minute later the hand gets taken off and you see Saddam on the ground dead.
 
i saw the footage before he got hanged lol, well close enough anyway, its good it got out, otherwise i would have created a conspiracy and say he didnt actually die!!!, but no, he looked pretty dead :D :p
 
Hard to put definate figures on it, but it is estimated around 200,000 died under Saddam in his 24 year reign - Around 695 a month.

I assume you mean under his orders. You can't include every death in his reign :p

I actually think he did show a lot of dignity and certainly more than the hired goons that taunted and despatched him. I saw no fear on his face and he accepted his fate with characteristic defiance, in a strange sort of way I found myself admiring him.

Hmm, according to the BBC site, American scientists estimated around 655 thousand civilians have died since the start of the invasion in 2003, interesting.
 
Was the only reason they even invaded because of the apparent Chemical Weapons? (Which still have not been found :rolleyes: )

I don't support what he did, i don't know any of the statistics or history.

He faced the gallows and has died as a martyr.

Nothing has been gained and this will only add to the escalating problems.

Might be something to do with the fact that the weapons inspectors were obstructed and delayed in their search for WOMD. I remember this quite clearly on the news.

If a police man has a search warrent for your house why delay him? Even if u have nothing to hide, what kind of a picture are u painting?


Never ceases to amaze me how people can complain about absolutely anything; i.e. tried in a US/Iraq court, death being filmed/not filmed (leaving conspirathy theorists with some leaverage), method of execution, invade or not invade Iraq in the first place?

Remember the Harry Enfield sketches? Where the formula was that something must be done and then the "smart" character says "Neeaaar, you didn't want to do it like that!".
 

I came across this image whilst I was reading a blog. Apparently it is being posted on arab websites and forums as proof that Saddam was martyred.

If you look closely at it, you're supposed to see Saddam's smiling face. People from Mosul in Iraq claim to have seen it.

Probably doctored.

Do I what? Remember it being on the news? Yes. Care to expand upon why the weapons inspectors "beg to differ"? Unlike the "Iraqi information minister" I would be confident that whatever a BBC correspondant is reporting would be a fact. What possible reason have u got to doubt what was reported on British television at the time? What motive would you have for questioning it.

What do u expect to get out of it if you are indeed correct and that the British media was falsly reporting the occurances? There was a dossier written about the level of threat of WOMD from Iraq and this incident would have been one of many indicators in the dossier that Iraq was trying to produce WOMD.

Would you have any insight into the reason for the 9/11 attacks? I still have no idea why the "Evil West" deserved it.

absolutely, after seeing the video i have a lot of respect for him. i would have passed out and lost control of my bodily functions long before i even got to the building let alone on the gallows, i mean can you imagine tony blair in that position!!!

I know he was an evil tyrant but look at the country he was running on the whole there a bunch of animals who stone women to death for adultrey etc and look at the mess there in now, these people will never understand democracy, they belive by blowing them selves up and killing fellow country men they will go to heaven with loads of virgins:confused: come on now this aint normal rational behavior is it. they need ruling with an iron fist because all they understand is fear and the threat of violence
