Just because I think Utd's full backs are the weakest compared to all the other positions I'll leave them out and play a 3-4-3 enabling this:

................................Schmeichel

...............Vidic.............Stam...........Ferdinand

Beckham............Keane..........Scholes............Giggs

..........Ronaldo..........Cantona..........Rooney

Why are there gaps in my post above? Ferdinand and between Scholes and Giggs?

Quote my post and you will see I have not put spaces in there... strange!

Schmeichel

Neville
Bruce
Rio
Irwin

Beckham
Keane
Scholes
Giggs

Ronaldo
Cantona

Its an impossible task and my criteria change depending on the position.

RVN should really be there but i think his style wasnt always suited to our play and we couldnt do much in Europe til Eric left but how can you leave out Eric?!

The one player who wont get many mentions and I havent included is Kanchelskis but in 94 (i think) he was absolutely unstoppable in terms of pace and goalscoring from the wing. One of my favs.

It's a forum thing to stop people breaking the layout with long lines of text with no spaces. Because you didn't put any spaces in between your dots, it counted them as one whole. :)

My argument with Cantona is does he get into the team based on the impact he had on the team that ultimately ended the 26 year wait for the title or are people genuinely putting him in there on his ability?

Kinda both. He had more impact than any and what he did at the time was unsupassed. The goals against Wimbledon, Sheff Utd, Sunderland etc were individual genius regardless of opposition. If it wasnt for him we wouldnt have to worry about how ANYONE would perform in order to win the CL!

Having said that SAF did realise after one campaign (i forget which) that Europe wasnt going to happen with him.

He is a personal fav of mine and id always pick him but i can see why Rooney and Ronaldo would force him out and i cant really argue with it.
