Sainsburys

N/a the codes did work - they will either honour the stated price or give the option to purchases goods at the correct price.

As i have already in another post my wife and 3 of her colleagues have spoken to Sainsbury's and they were told they will honour their orders.

My order does include the discount, the codes did work and their systems checked and verified the codes !

Myself and a mate used the codes mentioned on the sainsburys website yesterday. Last night I got a phone call from Sainsburys to say i could either pay the full amount or cancel the order due to those codes being used. Mate got the same phone call this morning. It would appear to be at the discression of the local Sainsbury as to whether they honour the orders or not.

Got it in writing?
Not saying it won't happen - but many a thing said over the phone has changed once a company has decided on the official policy.

And surprise, surprise.
All the greedy ones have spoilt the voucher system for all.
If people don't take the **** with these things then they will stay valid and everyone will get a go.
But there will as always be people who decide to take the selfish route, multiple orders etc and then we all lose out.

As I've mentioned before, those that have used the codes are at no risk of being charged the full amount, period.

I have agreed a charge of £23 on my credit card, anything above that will find itself being rejected by my credit card company and a charge-back filled in. If they choose to phone me and ask me to cancel, then so be it. AFAIK, legally they cannot charge the full amount without my permission.

I think it's more along the lines of the code being spread around so much that they've got wise to it...a deal like this isn't just going to stick around on one forum, and there are potentially hundreds of orders that could be placed from the codes just appearing on the site, even if everyone just uses the codes once.

Personally I cancelled the order as I can't really afford to pay full price. Was worth a go anyway :)

What area of the UK are you in?

I've not had a call yet, but if I do I'm gonna have to ask them to cancel my order. If they canceled everyones, imagine the amount of lost revenue from potential delivery slots that everyone took

Look at the front page!

Whats everyone who ordered going to do?
I think thats for the £10 off e-mail that was going around. We've had endless people phoning the helpdesk at work asking if its true

The multiple codes posted earlier did work and I received my delivery today and checked my card had only been billed £22.45 rather than the full amount :D

Im in Crewe, Cheshire.

used both sets of codes and my order went through and I recieved the confirmation emails but not delievered yet. No phone call yet but the first delivery is not due till Friday evening.

I seriously hope the incompetent fool who let this slip through the system gets the sack (well I don't - s/he could have got me a bargain;))... but it's ludacris that they've come up with a system that doesn't use single use vouchers. It's obvious that it'l get abused otherwise! Sainsbury's shouldn't be allowed to have a website tbh.

The fact that their system checked and verified the codes surely means that they would be on a sticky wicket.

The statement on the Sainsbury's website just doesn't stack with the fact the the codes have been used by thousands of people.

Also not great PR if they don't honour the discount, Im surprised the news hasn't got hold of this yet!

Won't be happy if it doesn't go through as I've got some presents in my order. If it comes to it I will cancel my order though rather than paying full price - Tesco is a lot cheaper afterall.
