Saints Row: The Third

It got bad reviews the remastered one still has all the old bugs and issues just up to date graphics.

Still locked framerate and really low fps for cut scenes.

Looks like remake was just a cash grab.

I really wanted this but reading reviews it doesn't look good. Please tell me otherwise because I would love to play it.

Not interested in this myself but Digital Foundry video (posted above) suggests a lot of work went into remaster and reviews are decent (7/10)

I've not played a Saints Row game before, right at the beginning of the game and visuals are nice, I just hope it can hold my interest.

I was put off the series by Saints Row 2. First one, which is only available on Xbox, was fantastic. Way better than GTA San Andreas, I thought. I might give this a try if it came to Game Pass or something but doubt I'd buy it. I already have the original in my Steam library from a Humble Bundle and have never played it.

Not true in the slightest, don't base opinions on reviews written by human bots. The game looks great, the fps is uncapped (or rather has the option to uncap it, even on consoles) and it runs smoothly. It retains all the charm of original game but updated graphically.

Honestly this is the best release of the year for me, I'm enjoying it greatly. They absolutely knocked it out of the park. If I have one complaint it's solely about sound mixing for surround sound, which I wish was more pronounced for sound effects but I otherwise would rate this as an easy 9/10. Well worth every penny!

Saints Row 3 is fantastic with a few mods. Some of the carnage you can do is amazing. The story is pretty good too. SR4 not as good but still okay.

Getting fed up of these remasters now, its very lazy way to make money. Why not just spend the effort on a new sequel.

Or you can just play the original with a few mods, which looked fine, even years ago?? I can understand something like the Mafia remake,as it is nearly 20 years old,but £35 is a bit steep for this.

Agreed, and Vortex/NMM mod support is a bit wonky with EGS purchased games.

I have a feeling we are going to see more of these lazy remasters. I played SR3 to death and I mean to death no manner of visual and audio enhancements are going to make me want to play it again. What will they think of doing next Just Cause 2 ? (Although that might tempt me to play again).

It says £35 but they have endless £10 off vouchers right now so it works out £25

Are you joking? The changes done with this remaster are on a whole 'nother level. You're not gonna find any mods that comes even within a tenth of what they did to it. The people buying the remaster aren't buying it because they're ok with just 'fine'. Paying £25 for a remaster of this calibre is nothing, that's barely a lunch. Hell, even modding, unless your time is worth £0 chances are it's gonna cost you more to attempt to mod games than if you were to just buy the remaster and you'd still never get even close to this level of quality.
