I'm supposed to prepare sambuca strawberries for a BBQ tomorrow! I've eaten them before, but I'm not quite sure how to make them. Has anyone done this before?

All I know is to get a lot of strawberries, and a bottle of sambuca. Put the two together and leave in the fridge for 24hrs. However, should I not add a lashing of sugar also to aid the fermenting process?

fermentation? I think all you do is soak them in it so they absorb it, your over thinking things :p

I would be tempted to add some sugar, just a little, as otherwise the alcohol may seem a little 'raw'.

Okay. I have no idea how to make these, But I now plan on doing so.

My plan is just Gonna be this one:-

Sambuca in a Tupperware container and add strawberries.

No idea how they'll turn out, I'll let you know when I've eaten them :D

not sure how else you would do it. surely the strawberries just soak up the sambuca. I would love some sambuca right now :D

Sambuca sounds just wrong to me - some other liqueur perhaps...

Or just eat strawberries and then drink flaming sambucas?

Just made vodka jelly :p

I fancy this also.

I fancy making Pear Drops Vodka, and looking around the web there's already a recommended way of doing it.

Pour Vodka into a Jug
Put Pear drops in Vodka Bottle
Refill Vodka bottle with Vodka
And then put into Dishwasher for 1 hour

Now, this to me sounds crazy, A bottle of Vodka in a Dishwasher for an hour? How is that not crazy lol :D

Anyone got a better method?

You can just leave it to sit for a week or so the dishwasher step is just to heat it up and dissolve them quicker
