Looks alright although all the animations and action look canned compared to the dynamics of GTA5 etc.

I'm tempted to pick this up. I think this'll be another Mad Max, Sleeping Dogs where no one really cares at the time but they're great fun to play.

It's meant to be quite cheap too - although no price listed on steam yet or pre-order which is unusual!

I'll eat my leather jacket if it has anywhere near the longevity and fun gameplay of GTA.

I actually welcome short disposable games, I'm tired of games that demand hundreds of hours from you.

I personally think that's where gaming has gone wrong. Publishers hoping they can release a game that someone will play for years and sink hundreds of pounds in micro transactions.

Bring on more cheaper games that provide short and sweet experiences....

£20.99 defo worth a punt at that price

edit: scrap that the reviews are dire so far will hold off and spend the 20 quid on some spicy nuggets and big mac from McDonalds instead....

I still want more of these shorter cheap priced games though, just better quality.

UE5 performance hitting it's usual form, mostly stable 30 fps on a 5090!

At launch, Samson is only available on PC, and after some initial testing, it quickly became clear why. My first impression raised a bit of a red flag. On my Ryzen 9 9950X3D and NVIDIA RTX 5090-powered system, the game defaulted to 4K Ultra settings with DLSS and Frame Generation enabled. Seeing this immediately made me question how well the game would perform natively.

After switching DLSS to its Native (DLAA) mode, enabling ray reconstruction, and disabling Frame Generation, things became much clearer. At 4K native with Ultra settings and ray reconstruction enabled, Samson delivered a mostly stable 30 FPS experience. While that's lower than I would expect from a system of this caliber, further investigation revealed a major factor: strand-based hair was enabled by default, which is a highly demanding setting.

I think they launched it because they ran out of money. Unfortunately the bad reviews have kneecapped the game so the launch is unlikely to bring in much revenue. Catch 22.
The game has great potential, if the devs can somehow keep the lights on and improve it. Probably better to think of this launch as early access.

Do you work for the studio?
Im glad I dont! Ha

No just a fan of gta, mafia and sleepings dogs genre of games.

Was hoping this would be a £20 bargain for some fun gta inspired gameplay (never being a gta6 contender) but at the same time not aiming to be with needing to sink 100+ hours in….

Alas, its pretty rubbish and i have refunded it .

Samson has launched with 4/10 on Metacritic score

And it looks amazing on Steamdeck
