Samson - GTA like

Typical UE5 slop, its become so common and predictable that I can watch 10 seconds of a trailer or gameplay of a UE5 game, not knowing beforehand that its UE5 and straight away call it out as slop

The easier game development tools become to use the more slop we will get. Playstation just did a purge and removed 4000 slop low effort games from its store this week

I think this is likely going to be another game I was looking forward to, tentatively, but seems to eb a little under done and needs more work, I'll keep an eye on it to see if some of the limitations are fixed and the gameplay etc expanded, hopefully the developers may improve it but also may not if sales are low, bit of a catch 22.
 
I'm glad I did my research on this one, I have had it wish listed for a while now. When I saw the price I almost impulsed purchased it... I'll just wait for a deep sale to pick it up out of curiosity
 
I'm tempted ot buy it on steam just to lol at it for an hour then get a refund. I may be a bit mad
 
As well as the bugs, the big issue is the core gameplay looks boring based on walkthrough videos I've watched.

Every combat encounter looks the same, no real variety. Even the environments they talked up don't have much impact.

Sleeping dogs is leagues ahead, with so many different environmental attacks and finishers and that game is nearly 14 years old!

Maybe they should have made Samson a martial artist with a variety of cool moves and visceral finishers with weapons. It's a video game but it seems developers sometimes shy away from over the top gamey stuff.

Game does look good, But watching gameplay i immediately though this could have done with at least 6 months more baking in the oven development wise.

Looks like it was rushed out, Something I'm sure they can fix but still...by the time they do most people will probably completed it.

WAB didnt like it, but then again he dosnt like much does he haha, graphics look quite good and it ran fine on his 2080, it just looks a little boring to me.
 
looks like ai tried to make a gta game after only being trained on late 90s games.

was it meant to be a Driver series game but they couldnt get the IP.

people should learn from crimson desert going forward and use minimal RT but still look pretty good and runs on almost anything

Crimson RT is awful, it is gimped and with the recent patch, they gimped the GI even more. Sure it looks good in some scenarios but in a lot of areas, it looks awful because of the poorly implemented/gimped RT. Also, when you turn on RR which forces much better RT lighting, the performance is shocking and no better or worse than games with much better RT implementation and even some games which have path tracing run better than crimson fully maxed with RR....
