Anyone having issues with horizontal lines on the 32" Samsung Odyssey G7? I went through 5 of these screens and sent it back for warranty repair twice and they're still there.

I was hoping it was going to get fixed by a software update but after a year, no luck. You can see the difference with lines between the same icons here:

Looks pretty different at the top!

Going to https://rog.asus.com/wallpapers/ the screen goes mental with these lines:

Only way to stop this is to turn Black Equalizer right up to 20.

Samsung tell me its fine - is this something PC users just have to deal with?

Cheers

My friend has the 27" G7 and doesnt seem to have these lines. Seems to be an inherent issue with the 32" and they replaced the board in the most recent repair and its still there. They had to repair the jogger OSD switch twice as well!
Lost all faith in these screens now, which is a shame as the specs are really good.

My argument was that the site or sites are not supposed to display lines like that, and not happening on others so there's a fault. Luckily I got from a well known rainforest site so managed to get a refund. Did take some back back and forth but got it in the end :)

I understand that. It seems Samsung pretending or stalling is one tactic, but as there are other components at play (and software) its a tricky one to cement.

However as the models have been out some time now, why has no tech press reviewer expanded on it, or is it a case of not current toy or turn a blind eye as they sponsor my channel kind of thing going on?

I've had them since I bought the g7 32 inch well over a year now

I feel it's more noticeable top left , learnt to live with it when I feel I shouldn't really have too I can't remember been a while but I think the scan lines go away if reduce to 60hz almost like the panel is being pushed too much at 240hz

Quality control on these are poor first one I got it was flickering whenever most of the screen was bright colour

Just noticed few weeks ago one side of the RGB lighting is displaying different colour to the other side probably led has died

The lines seem to be on all models why didn't the reviews pick up on this ? I bought it after it got great reviews from hub and rtings

Yeah I done plenty of checking the displays in a similar price range, seen the recommendations from hub and a handful of lesser tubers out there that seem to have either kept their model or have reviewed lots of panels and it came with lots of positives. As I got it for no more then 500 it was within budget because ones that are better can cost double the amount.

I am happy with its output so far, but I also keep grounded and monitor (pun) the issues in case I spot it and its within warranty. What I found most disturbing is the lack of Samsung engagement and detail with things like driver, firmware bugs and fixes. As a high number of people seem to send them back, it should be more documented, then those that do send them and get 'repairs' back - seem to have identical issues with replacements. Now all audiences have picky users, you only have to go to the pixel6 thread on here and see how critical users were of that handset, some of the expectation of the phone is quite demanding to say the least but there are a few issues they fairly point out.

Wouldn't expect the latest Odyssey models to have it - which is why I am exploring answers.

Yes I had that, posted in the other Samsung thread, multiple "repairs"and never got fixed so had it refunded
I've been asking for a refund due to multiple replacements / repairs not working but they refuse. Even when Samsung support told meif this didn't fix it I'd get a refund. They still say all they can do under the warranty is send for repair, despite me saying it's not repairable and I'll be without a screen for another 2 weeks, it's like talking to a brick wall! Last comment was along the lines of "scan lines are just a thing that happens".

Also since it came back, updated to firmware 1014.1 - the LED's default to on each time the screen starts despite the setting remaining off. I have to change the setting and back to off to turn them off! The jogger switch has been fixed twice, not filling me with confidence that it wont break out of warranty. Just want a refund at this point but they keep saying they don't have that capability!

I never knew I had this issue until I went to that ASUS site
freaked me out
Found lines completely disappear at some point as you make the browser window smaller

There is a definite connection to Black equalizer.
Had mine set to 10 before. Lines disappear for me at 13 (which I think was default), then flash briefly at every level past that
fw 1014.1

Is it the retailer you are talking about or the dialogue is direct with Samsung?
Samsung. I tried chasing with Currys but they said any issues go to Samsung's warranty. I thought by law the retailer had to make good on the general retailer's guarantee for electrical goods - since you're business is with them, not the manufacturer. Of course there is still the manufacturers warranty which the retailer can use.

I'm really put off buying big things online since the physical Currys shop is completely separate to their online shop - they wont have anything to do with you and you're stuck being repeatedly told the same thing on the phone.

Here's the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2Z_eDIdvYw

Even looking at the desktop, the lines are still visible for me. How is this not being flagged by reviewers??
