Samsubg G7 32"

HU review. of the new Neo G7. Look at 5m in for the knowns.
Interesting, Hardware Unboxed didnt mention the scan lines in their review of the original G7 but talking about them as a common issue in this video. I still get them even at 60hz.

Am waiting for a 'product support specialist' to get back to me from Samsung but expecting them to say 'its just how it is and not a fault'. So off putting though.

I've been asking for a refund due to multiple replacements / repairs not working but they refuse. Even when Samsung support told meif this didn't fix it I'd get a refund. They still say all they can do under the warranty is send for repair, despite me saying it's not repairable and I'll be without a screen for another 2 weeks, it's like talking to a brick wall! Last comment was along the lines of "scan lines are just a thing that happens".
I got the same from Samsung and the retailer, after I think two Samsung repairs went back to the retailer and said Samsung told me refunds are handed by the seller, one of the people at Samsung did tell me that, I then told the retailer this and gave
them the two repair numbers from Samsung and they arranged the collection and refund. I never had the original box but did have one from the repair company so just used that.

Well the Samsung 'product support specialist' confirmed that scan lines are just part of that type of screen and won't be returning it. Never really heard anything about them on the many reviews I watched - everyone said it was solid. I'll be buying my next screen from in a shop if possible as its easier in person, on the phone they just keep repeating themselves.

Scanlines were pointed out in the first VA high refresh panels that Samsung did. Quite a few reviews pointed this out. It is worse on their 240hz models. Even the new Neo G7/8 have them on certain colours.

depends on the location on some parts dont get any when moving the icon around desktop also depends on the colour, if had to buy again I would avoid it but 240hz was too tempting and the rave reviews from rtings and HUB

* UPDATE *

I've now returned the G7 back to Currys based on the OSD menu button breaking a 3rd time and the scan line issues from the start. Took some legal advise and wrote a letter about it not being acceptable.

Was planning on replacing with MSI Optix MPG321QRF QD but has now shot up £200. It was the same price as when I bought the G7 but it's taken Currys a month to arrange the return/refund and they wont honour the price from when they finally approved the return a few days ago.

So now I'm looking at the ACER Predator XB323U GX, even though it's £50 more than the refund. My other screen in an Acer XB27OHU and never had any issues. Anyone have any better ideas? I guess I could wait for the MSI to come back down in price seeing Currys like to price it higher for a month so they can say it's been reduced by £200 (£699 down to £499).
My son's not happy that he can't game on Fortnite as I've stolen his 24" so I can work :rolleyes:
