Samsung 850 Evo replacement

I am looking for a replacement for the above as I am running out of space on the current one.

I have a Gigabyte Z97 SOC Force motherboard.

Can I use one of the mew M.2 drives on that board with an adaptor or would I be better off just sticking with regular SSD?

What size is your current SSD and what is your budget?

Would stick with normal SSD as you will get more for your money.

Team Group or Crucial MX500 seem good value at the moment.

Are you just using a SSD on its own? You could just get a normal HDD for storage and use the SSD for OS and frequently used apps.

IIRC u lose some sata ports if u use m2 slot and its more complicated because u don't get full performance of it on this board.

Current SSD is 128 GB. So I am really looking at 512 GB or above.

SSD prices are crashing through the floor at the moment, there's quite an interesting article about it on 'the register' .

Unless you are critically low on SSD drive space and have no other options, I'd hold out on buying a new drive for a month or so.
