There is currently a slow NVMe performance issue currently with X299 motherboards. I have Asus looking into it as I have experienced issues on all motherboards. The problem is also apparent if you use a PCIe adapter card or the M.2 slots. The drives seem to be 10-20% slower on read performance against the same drive on X99 motherboards. I did not experience the same issues on my 400Gb Intel 750 Pro drive but the Read and Write performance is a lot lower than the M.2 drives so it may not be as apparent. I have tried 960 Evo, SM951, PM961 and SM961 Drives.

At least you now know it's an early adoption problem. Hope it gets sorted soon, you don't pay that amount of money for silly issues like this!
Well i was a bit disappointed to be honest, i expected it being a new board they would have devloped it straight off.

It does seem a bit strange, you telling me no one in the R&D team ever tried a samsung 950 Pro (The fastest SSD thats out) and give it a whirl to check everything is OK?

Its not like its brand new device or rare.

Weird isn't it?

You might want to check the block diagram on your motherboard manual to make sure the slot its in is connected to the CPU NOT the PCH. Weird how its just started doing it if it hasn't been moved or owt.

Hi there

Which PCI slot is connected to the CPU. I've got an ASUS Prime X299-A on order and will order as Asus Hyper to go with it
