Samsung A70 6.7" 4500 no curved screen ~£400

From my non professional stance on the g7 moto power camera, it is satisfactory at best and does the job for me so it is okay has enough picture quality for me.

I know nothing about the a70 camera though.

Dan.

p.s. for me if you use the moto g7 power non stop it will last like 8-15 hours at best because some apps demand more power than others.

Had a look at the A50 and the A70 in-store today and they do seem very nice for the money, they had the S10 next to it and I couldn't tell the difference (admit that the big security tags made it hard to judge).

With the trade in and cashback the A50 comes in at sub £200 which is great and having held both I think the A70 is a tad too big for me (A50 seems just about usable with one hand). I was looking at a second hand Pixel 2 XL or a new Nokia 7.1 but this seems a much better deal, just a shame the camera is a bit meh.

Edit: Didn't realise the full difference in spec between the A50 and A70, the A70 is the better phone but damn its big. :p Will have another look.

Here is a picture taken with the Moto g7 power's camera.

Not bad at all, acceptable picture quality thus for me this is satisfactory.

I have owned these phones nokia 8, htc u11, moto g4 plus, lenovo p2. oukitel k10000 and i know what picture quality they have so roughly the nokia 8 and htc u11 have a more sharper image then the moto g7 powers camera and the above image.

Also yeah i bought the lenovo p2 because of it's battery life as well as the oukitel k10000 that has a massive 10000mah battery.

For me battery life is paramount and that is the first thing i look for in a mobile phone, the battery life.

I think the moto g7 power outlast's the lenovo p2 regarding battery life as well as oukitel k10000 well yeah those 3 the moto the lenovo and oukitel they are all rivals and designed for battery life and thus far i prefer the moto g7 power for battery life.

The design of the moto is for battery life and the like, 720p screen etc because of battery life and all of that and out of the lenovo p2 and oukitel k10000, the moto is the more economical phone which means it uses less power demanded from the battery more economical when compared with lenovo p2 and oukitel k10000.

So yeah i for one, battery life is the number one thing and i think i am not alone.

So yeah since lenovo discontinued the p2 this is a very worthy competitor the moto g7 power and would recommend this budget smartphone because the battery in it is solid and for those who want at least 1 day worth of battery charge this is the phone to get the moto g7 power over the lenovo p2 that is.

Then there is the a70 but that cost's more and i wouldn't call it a budget phone but maybe prehaps it is when compared to the samsung flagship as people here have said.

rant over, i am loving the battery life of the moto g7 power that is all and is worthy of being put on the radar for people like me who is after a phone with a decent amount of battery life to last at least 1 day (will easily last 2 days and a bit more if you don't use the phone much) or 8 to 15 hours of on screen time varying on how much power a smartphone app uses that is.

Anyways enough moto g7 power propaganda and to leave the thread to re rail it self, sorry but i could not help my self anyways the samsung a70 is worthy of being praised for it's battery life for sure, i think 3 days is close to what the moto g7 power gets, but something like 60 hours on standby for the moto which means the samsung with it's 4500mah battery beats the moto g7 power regarding the phone on standby.

Either way i can't afford a a70 nor do i want to spend that much on a phone but hey ho the a70 and moto g7 power are close between each other indeed regarding how long the battery last's.

I have one question, where is the samsung a70 in battery tests off some top websites like these below???

https://www.tomsguide.com/us/moto-g7-power-battery-life,news-29796.html

https://www.digitaltrends.com/cell-phone-reviews/moto-g7-power-review/

https://www.neowin.net/news/moto-g7-power-review-days-of-battery-life/

I got this phone the moto g7 power due to reviews of the battery life.

Out of the top websites shown on google search no where does it mention the a70, like as if the phone was unknown.

Don't get me wrong this phone is a budget phone and for under £200 it would be hard to find a phone at that price that gives the same or more battery life.

https://rakoza.com/samsung-a70-battery-life-battery-drain-test-js-tech1503/

So during this test, we get around 9 hours of battery life from Samsung galaxy a70. And if we are getting the screen on time more then 8 hours you can expect 1-day battery backup from that smartphone. So from Samsung galaxy a70, we can expect 1 and a half day of battery backup and you need not worry for charging as well.

Okay 9 hours of battery life with on screen time, the moto g7 power will manage 8 hours of punishment or 9 hours but will peak upto 15.5 hours on screen time.

I demand why top websites don't have these phones above listed as phones with the longest battery life, because apparently according to tomshardware the moto g7 power is a phone with the most longest battery life.. out of every phone they tested within a 2 year period.

Anyways i did a personal test to test how long the moto g7 power battery last's.

This is with moderate use mostly youtube streaming for 6 hours and browsing the web and the like and for me it lasted 14 hours and 9 minutes, i would not be surprised if it lasted 15.5 hours reported by tomshardware.

With the most demanding app that uses 100% of the phones processing power i would not be surprised if it lasted 8 to 9 hours from 100% charge down to about 1 or 2 % charge regarding the moto g7 power, so yea non stop with the most demanding app i am confident the phone will last 8 or 9 hours at best.

more of an update... CPU performance it feels no different to the S8 Plus I threw away.. if anything the phone seems faster ** however im not using it for games ** (well just pokemon some puzzle games, angry birds ..)

Battery on S8 plus was almost always dead by 7pm if I did not charge, A70 I can skip charging all day if I want...

It charges (or seems to) faster... If I forgot to charge the S8 Plus overnight id struggle to keep it topped up during the day... if the A70 is at 40% in the evening I might not bother charging as I know it will charge at my desk to 100% sooo fast (ok no real science there but doing the same with the s8 plus and it have to remember to keep it on charge most of the day to get it to 100%)

unless I try and unlock with the FP reader like a spastic it seems fast enough to me (I consider 1 second a log time).. face unlock is super fast some times I have to check its actually locked as it unlocks so fast...

Mine arrived at the Three shop today... yay! Everybody needs a Samsung A70 :-)

1 very small drawback is that the cable is cat C to cat C and my computer doesn't have one of those ports. If I use the cat C to standard USB from my S8+ though, then it connects fine and I can see the data. That just means I'll have to find another S8+ cable when I sell the S8+ so that I still have one on me.

The screen is still very sharp, don't notice the drop in resolution as it's still 1080p on the short side. The extra RAM is a noticeable boost vs 4GB. Ringtones, yes this is the most important aspect of a phone :p - these are all different. Named after planets and other things astrological to suit the Galaxy brand. In another thread I think someone said that the body is plastic instead of metal but I can't tell except it feels a bit lighter. I chose the white model which is very reflective on the back, so it looks more like a Silver S8+ than a white Note 4.

Yes i am grateful for the op for putting the samsung a70 on the map or radar and does have a good battery life.

Glad you like the phone @Pawnless Endgame

This phone i would have considered but it was too late i went with the moto g7 power.

Samsung are doing a £60 cashback offer on this phone until 27/06 which makes it only £309, it's tempting I have to say. There's also an A70S coming out that's going to have a 64MP camera, though there's no info regarding the other specs yet.

You could get another £100 back trading in any android phone or £150 back for an old iPhone like I did.

Brought it down to £159.

I hadn't heard of the A70S. I'll keep an eye out. I find the camera is pretty acceptable on the A70.

Funnily enough I'm looking at the exact same switch. My S8+ is struggling with battery and theres a crack in the screen. Did you find the swap worthwhile?

If I wanted an s10 plus I could buy one... I have a iPhone XS but am selling

A70 is perfect if you gave me a s10 p I'd just sell it...

It took me hours of research to decide.. If you have questions pm me...
