Samsung G9 and G7 49” DQHD; 5120×1440, 240Hz...

Agreed, tbh the 49CRG90 is overall excellent from when I tried it so they may have pulled it off!

I have huge doubts about these new Samsung 240hz monitors. The crg9 is far from excellent in my opinion. Still riddled with ghosting, not usable at all in fast gaming content. Just see the reviews below from tftcentral and rtings. The response times are as bad as 35ms at times. Nowhere near what 120hz requires. 240hz sounds just like marketing talk. However like you all I am secretly hoping that they pulled it off.

Looking forward to seeing an in depth review of the G9 but I have a feeling it might be trail blazing ahead of it's time and waiting it out for something else later in the year or next is better move. Maybe Iiyama will bring out a 49" to follow up on the recent 34" model with IPS, newer DP's/HDMI.

Looking forward to seeing reviews on this one. Wounder if i can connect my works surface pro to is also...

Yeah me too, I am on the cusp of building a new system for productivity and some gaming and want to centre it around a 49" screen.

Wish this monitor had USB Type C for plugging a laptop in for charging, KVM, Data etc.

Specs for G9 maintain a 1ms g2g story

Technically 1ms will be true. They will reach 1ms in one of the columns below while all other columns are massively in red.

This is from https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/samsung_c27rg50.htm which is their latest 240hz VA monitor.

Thats how "1ms" IPS speed is marketed. Yes, they achieve 1ms on fastest overdrive, but at unusable levels of overshoot.

Still, boldest claims with VA stayed at 4ms g2g (1ms only MPRT), and that still meant 30-40ms response time on dark shades.
(c27rg50 overdrive didn't activate at all, probably messed up firmware, ignore that one)

These Odyssey monitors are first VA to claim 1ms g2g
