Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

running the new froyo build with lag fix and I think its runs a lot slower then I9000XWJG5. might even revert back to it TBH:(

One thing I have to say the GPS is really good on this, normally I got no singal at all indoors and now it was instant, found me right away on google maps.

I think JPH is the slickest rom I've used to date, so much so I haven't felt the need to install the lag fix.

Worst rom by far for me. Running like I haven't done a factory reset even though I have. Only thing I can think of is my internal SD card but i'm not wiping that. Will go back to 2.1 with lagfix was superbly smooth :(

OK, so today I decided to update the firmware via Kies (I'm with Vodafone). All seemed to go ok, got to the final screen where it says completed, phone will reboot when firmware update completed. However it never did reboot, the menu and back button lights just stayed on for ages.

Now the phone only boots to the Galaxy S start up screen and gets stuck.

Any ideas on what to do next? Flash firmware with Odin?

Any help would be much appreciated, really don't want to have to send it back to Vodafone

EDIT: Ok now it actually boots, but only to the 'Welcome to GT-I9000, touch the Android to begin'. Except the 'force close' messages keep popping up saying XXXX process has stopped unexpectedly, and pressing the 'touch android to begin' doesn't work (more force close errors pop up). So obviously it's working to some extent which must be a good sign.

Just give it a go based on what you put and i'm impressed so far.
Thought id have to root it and install the lagfix but is seems great on its own :)

Any Vodafone users have to do anything special to get MMS/Internet access working from their phones? I've put in the APN settings but still can't access the internet/receive mms's...

Heads up, found a nice leather case that holds credit cards. Seems it's only 99p for the first 20 buyers. I'll put some pics up when it arrives.

Possibly one of the the worst and most inconvenient cases for a phone that ive ever seen. I mean seriously, who the chuff wants their credit cards stored along with the phone in the same place?

Can anybody help me get back to the o2 version of JM1? (I think it's I9000ADJM1)

I've tried using Kies, but it's just telling me no update is available :(

I'm currently on JM8 (Tayutama release) from XDA developers.

HIDSWVER: I9000XWJM8/I9000O2UJM1/I9000ADJM1/I9000XWJM8
ProductCode: GT-I9000HKDO2U

I'm really sure where I'm going wrong to be honest. I've followed many guides I've found to get Kies to show an older firmware, in this case JM1, and I've tried manic_man's guide a few pages back. :(

Me for one? I don't carry a wallet, only use two cards. Usually in the same pocket just floating around. Suits me perfectly, I want them in the same place

These are the O2 firmwares on the FUD server. Make sure the "HIDSWVER" & "ProductCode" strings in the Kies registry tallies with 101 to get the JM1 update.

Or and this one's a bit involved, but you can download the encoded file from Samsung's server and decode it, then flash with ODIN. You'd need to build the C# decoder and find the decrypt keys. Some talk on it here, should look like this decrypted.
