Samsung Galaxy S24 Family Thread

Great review and always find this chap gives a fair unbiased review, also calls out the issue with shutter lag / blur when taking photos of his kids at 13.58 when in motion getting blurred, glad I wasn't imagining it

mine is going on MM soon, I'm sorta decided that it's a bit "too painful" in certain areas for me to switch.

back to crapple I go, I'll probably keep trying androids until one sticks as I miss the more open platform but apple still sorta, just works..

Shutter speed is fine now, no delay when you enable the quick tap shutter compared to the same setting on the S23U which still has a bit of processing delay.
Surely that's shutter lag and not shutter speed.

I mean it's been well documented by many reviews that the s24u takes blurry shots of anything that isn't still.

Give the pixel 8 Pro a go. It's easy to return if it doesn't work for you. It's way more polished on the hardware and software front, from when the the 6 series was released.

Just had email from Samsung saying my trade in is now all completed. They received my phone on Monday, so that was pretty quick to test & complete.

Getting the S24 Ultra for £610 with Trade in, I ain't gonna complain.

The Flat screen was enough to make me upgrade & having had the phone a week now i don't miss the S23U, except the colour of the device, i had the Red/Black combination, looked so sweet.

If you are on the fence on whether to upgrade, I'd say do it. The feel of the S24U & that flast screen are way better than the S23U.

From your own blurry shots, what is the shutter speed from the exif data out of interest.

With most stuff now finalised (watch sold, phone trade in done etc) I have to say my deal wound up being really good.

I went for the 512GB Titanium Black S24U

Original Price: £1011.65
Trade in S10+: -£190
Sell Watch to Envirofone: -£150
Sell Disney+ 12M code: -£40
5478 WOW points earned via Perks at Work: -£54.78
Total Discount: -£434.78
Grand Total: £576.87

Killer price for a flagship phone on release!

Paid Samsung the £370 today for the 23 Ultra I am not sending them.

Waited nervously from sellmyphone.org to confirm receipt and successful testing of the 23 Ultra which they offered £620 for....

Environfone just completed my transaction for Galaxy Watch 6 and Pixel 7.. £350.. taking the cost of my s24 Ultra down to around £500, as I am keeping the Disney+ voucher myself.

Just paid Samsung the £370 for not returning the trade-in, phone recycling is getting the 23U today so hopefully get my £620 from them today too.
Trade in for a 23U was only £370?!

No this was a mistake on the system, My IMEI was accepted under a S22 Ultra, which is £370, the trade in for a 23 Ultra was at the time was well over £500. Hence why I decided to instead cancel the orde rand start again (and lose cashback etc), just not send Samsung the 23U and instead sell it to recycling for £620 instead.

Didn't work
You're right. I used Smart Switch as I was so curious about this screen stuff and yep, it's so washed out compared to S23U. Resetting settings didn't seem to make much difference.

Hopefully they fix the issue soon, might just factory reset everything and not use smart switch, it's delaying me sending in the S23U though.
