Samsung Galaxy S25 Family Thread

Must be tough reading for a shareholder....
Because the share price of Samsung Electronics is going to tank because the shutter speed is not fast enough for you? :D

With that logic I'm expecting Googles share price to take a hit because Android with all their engineering brilliance still can't suss out how to allow notifications delivered on time whilst aggressively enforcing doze.

It's utter incompetence.

Not had time to sit and transfer over the phone yet but opened up the Galaxy Buds 3... what cheap crap they are, didn't really pay attention beforehand given they were 'free' but amazed earbuds with a £159 retail price (lololol) don't even have the 'in ear' silicon buds (like the Buds 3 Pro).

Not even sure it's worth bothering trying to pair them and see what they sound like or just try and offload them (but no idea who would actually pay money for these, they feel like something you'd have got with an entry level phone in 2003)

Buds 3 aren't worth anywhere near the RRP; they are only priced that way to appear more premium.

Tell it how it is. Of course its incompetence on both parts. Difference is if you call out a product I'm using, I'm not going to blindly defend it.

How does the trade in work, do Samsung provide you pre paid label to ship it back to them?
A plastic bag and Tracked 48 label included with new phone. Tracked 48 label is free to use but only £100 limit if lost in transit, it says to use Royal Mail Special Delivery instead which is next day and higher value cover £750 but you have to pay to return it yourself, paperwork says £7.50 but link below says from £7.75 to send. All the reference numbers are on the provided Tracked 48 label. If you use RMSD instead, then whether they still need all the returns ref etc numbers on the outside of the returned package ? Also your own responsibility to ensure it is packaged properly to avoid any damage in transit.

Why is this a problem? They're decorative aren't they?

They look like the cheap lens protectors you can buy on Amazon, only you bought the wrong size so the ring doesn't reach all the way down to the back of the phone.

That was my first thought when I saw the renders but I never for a moment thought they were actually just stick-ons. Its another small niggle that (imho) detracts from the 'flagship' nature of the S25 Ultra.

I bought the phone anyway, and in the hand and in use I don't notice them because I'm not looking at them. Are they likely to fall off? Probably not, but it does feel like a step down in quality and a step backwards.

Couple this with the S-pen Bluetooth being removed (another step backwards), and the continued lack of actual improvements to the device outside of chipset refresh and it feels like Samsung is cutting corners while what we pay stays the same or goes up.

But I appreciate that looks are subjective so other people might like the rings. They just aren't for me. I think they look like cheap stick ons and the teardown has shown that's indeed all they are. Not what I expect on a flagship device. Ultimately its less about the rings and more about the direction Samsung seems to be taking the Ultra line in.

Quick edit to add - I still prefer the S25 Ultra over the S24. Despite my comments about the rings, i think it feels more premium than the S24 and I never really fell in love with the squared of corners of the previous gen.

I'll use special delivery and use the address on the printed included label and pop that label back in the box with the paperwork.

Anyone selected Samsung store pickup in London for today? The status on my day 1 order is a bit wonky - at the top level it says "Preparing dispatch" but then when expanded it says both the phone and buds are "In transit" but the tracking doesn't work - it was meant to be available to collect today.
